Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson announces the appointment of Anndrea Wild as director of the Office of Homelessness and Criminal Justice Reform and Liz Sollis as her communications director.

After the conclusion of a national search, Wild was selected to take the helm of the recently restructured office that will focus on criminal justice, homelessness, and their intersection.

“With more than two decades of experience, Anndrea is well-positioned to lead our critical work in the areas of homelessness and criminal justice. I’m confident in her ability to bring together a broad array of stakeholders, improve our systems, and help implement our action plan on homelessness and criminal justice,” Salt Lake County Mayor Wilson said.

Wild holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Utah and previously served as the programming division director for the Utah Department of Corrections, as well as the performance audit supervisor for the Office Legislative Auditor General where she aimed to improve Utah’s programs, reduce costs, and promote accountability.

“I am humbled and excited for the opportunity to work collaboratively with criminal justice, behavioral health, housing, and homelessness system stakeholders to address the many challenges facing our most vulnerable residents,” Wild said. “Utahns are looking for effective alternatives to incarceration and homelessness that lead to better outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. Collectively, we can safely divert people from further justice involvement and strategically plan for more housing opportunities while meeting the unique needs of the individual and enhancing public safety.”

Wild joins the Mayor’s leadership team, currently working to implement the Mayor’s Homelessness, Human Services and Criminal Justice Plan.

Earlier this month, Liz Sollis joined the Mayor’s leadership team as the communications director. Sollis has nearly three decades of public service in state and county government as well as extensive local non-profit employment and volunteer experience. Most recently, Sollis served as the associate director of Community Engagement for Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation.

“With more than two decades of communications, public relations, strategic planning, community engagement, and government expertise, Liz will be a valuable asset to our team and to the community,” Wilson stated.

Sollis attended the University of Utah where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Criminology certificate.
