Salt Lake City—Mountain West Commercial Real Estate is pleased to announce that its client, employee-owned grocery store WinCo Foods, has announced a new location in the center of South Salt Lake City at 2100 South and State Street. This location will give residents of Salt Lake City and surrounding areas the opportunity to shop at Winco and take advantage of the savings it passes on to customers.
Since its inception in Boise, Idaho, in 1967, the majority employee-owned supermarket has gained popularity throughout the Western United States and now boasts over 100 locations and 15,000 employees in eight states. Winco has locations in Midvale, Orem, West Valley, Clinton, Ogden and Layton (under construction).
The new Utah store will be at the heart of a major redevelopment project that will encompass the surrounding area. The proposed plan will revitalize the area and significantly increase the residential and retail landscape. The long-awaited development will also help to create an important showcase mixed use project for South Salt Lake and will serve as a convenient destination for both local and regional residents as this site has great access to I-15 and I-80, and this hub is the only one along the UTA TRAX line that has access to all three TRAX lines.
Chad Moore Managing Director of Mountain West Commercial represented Winco Foods and Stuart Thain of Coldwell Banker Commercial represented the Developer.
