What does success look like to you?

In our field, success is a matter of life and death. Nothing is more motivating than knowing animals are alive today because of your work to bring about change. I’m incredibly grateful to be working for an organization that allows me to move forward with bold ideas and is invested in forever changing the industry paradigm. Our wins aren’t on a balance sheet; they are living, breathing pets curling up to sleep safely on someone’s bed.

What challenges have you overcome to get here today?

As I moved into senior leadership positions, I had to work twice as hard to prove my competence and knowledge compared to the men around me. Earlier in my career, I experienced significant pay discrimination despite leading that organization in a financial turnaround while also driving record-setting positive outcomes for animals. Those experiences caused me to research and carefully consider the values and culture of organizations before accepting a role.
