What’s a lawyer to do when their firm hits a plateau for growth?

Just like any small business, what made attorneys stand out before won’t work forever. They feel stuck in outdated processes, constantly “firefighting” instead of planning, and on the verge of burnout.

The DISRUPT Legal Summit, hosted by Hona, touts a singular mission: Give law firms the confidence to abandon the traditional methods of running a practice that aren’t working.

“DISRUPT was built because so many firms want to grow, but run the exact same playbook as every other firm,” said Hona CEO Manny Griffiths. “It takes ingenuity, creativity, and a little risk to stand out and build a firm that grows rapidly.”

Extreme Firm Growth Through AI, Automation & Disruptive Strategies

This two-day legal conference, May 5–7, 2025 at the Asher Adams Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, features expert attorneys and legal industry pros who know you can’t just win cases and expect to grow. They’re entrepreneurs and business owners who know the struggles of unclear processes and plans — and fought for their growth instead of settling.

Keynotes and panels will give attendees the confidence, tools, and strategies to:

● Break out of patterns that hold back firms

● Plan for explosive growth that’s also sustainable

● Minimize burnout and overwhelm

Speakers include firm founders like Rob Levine, Ryan McKeen, Jenn Gore, and Mike Morse.

“We’re bringing together some of the most successful attorneys in the space to speak about unique disruptive things they did to build standout firms,” said Griffiths.

Spotlighting business management challenges will be marketing and strategy experts including Gabriela Cubeiro (Affinipay), Colleen Joyce (Lawyer.com), and Raymond Mieszaniec (EvenUp).

Topics and panels will focus on marketing and branding that doesn’t waste budget, day-to-day firm inefficiencies, AI legal tools to adopt or avoid, and client journey faux pas.

“We’re setting up this conference similarly to a think-tank or an incubator,” said Griffiths. “A place where attorneys can think of new ideas on how to grow or maybe have the courage to implement ‘crazy’ ideas they’ve had in the past.”

Disrupting the Legal Tech Industry

Conference host Hona is no stranger to breaking tradition in the legal space. Founded in 2021 by Griffiths, COO Matt McClellan, and CTO Josh Christensen, the Orem-based company immediately filled a gap in law firms’ client communication. Firms use Hona’s flagship product to reduce time-consuming client phone calls, instead letting clients track their cases like they would a package.

After a $9.5 million Series A round of funding in 2024, Hona launched two additional products in Q1 of 2025: Hona Leads and Voice AI. These products further solidified Hona’s commitment to preventing lawyers from drowning in phone calls.

“DISRUPT isn’t a Hona user conference,” Griffiths clarified. “But because we’ve created some of the most disruptive technology in law, of course we’ll be announcing new things and showing how firms can grow using Hona.”
