Ogden — Small businesses are taking over and as life shifts back to some semblance of normal, now is the perfect time to consider Jessica Dewitt, owner and lead creative of DeWitt Planning, to be the person you call for any event you have in mind. From an elopement, micro-wedding, or a styled photoshoot, she is there to orchestrate something truly breathtaking with her amazing planning skills and floral designs. With her business skyrocketing and the realization that it is necessary to have a space to be entirely creative in, she is opening a floral storefront boutique, Speakeasy Floral, on February 5th in Ogden, Utah. This will be an underground space for all creatives in Utah to flourish, and a place for Jess to call home.
Jess likes to go against the norm of calling herself a wedding planner and instead likes to go by an “experience planner.” She has always had a passion for planning ever since she was a little girl. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in event management from Johnson & Wales University, one thing was missing for her: creativity! That is why when launching DeWitt Planning, she wanted to continuously challenge herself and overcome obstacles–do things that she never even imagined could be possible. She genuinely loves what she does and is still amazed by how much she enjoys her “work.” She can plan any type of event, small or large, with a budget of $1,000 or $100,000. There’s nothing that could stump the creative wave she runs on. There is so much that goes into the planning process of any event, especially forming friendships throughout the process. Jess is the perfect person to guide you through.
Her storefront boutique will have a “speakeasy vibe” allowing this to be a cohesive space to feel artistic, grounded, and off the charts creative. There are so many plans this boutique can offer: from it being a flower shop with a “bar” stocked with delicious arrangements constantly changing to utilize the freshest florals to an in-house studio-lit photoshoot space able to be rented out for vintage clothing pop-ups. The boutique offers so much more on top of it being the dedicated home to both Speakeasy Floral + DeWitt Planning. Jess’s goal with this space is for it to grow and evolve just like her dreams and creativity have.
Speakeasy Floral will have its grand opening debut on February 5, 2022. The celebratory opening event will be at 6 p.m. at 114 N Washington Blvd. There will be bartenders to enhance the speakeasy vibe, a pop-up tattoo station by Vibe Tattoo Utah, product sale pop-ups from EXIT 14, a Seattle/Tacoma/SLC-based vintage store, and NotPot’s CBD products. So many photographers, family, friends, and members of the community will come together to celebrate the opening of this groundbreaking space that’s never been seen before.
