Salt Lake City — Dreamscapes, Utah’s immersive art exhibit, reopens on Friday, February 14th, at The Gateway. After five months of rebuilding and reimagining its walk-through experience, Dreamscapes is back with its fourth iteration since debuting in November 2018. Visitors can expect new artwork, interactive elements, and some familiar pieces.
Presale tickets are available now. To thank the community for its ongoing support, Utah Arts Alliance has reduced ticket prices to $16.99 for adults and $12 for children to keep the experience accessible to all.
Dreamscapes, a project of Utah Arts Alliance, merges physical artwork, technology, upcycled materials, and creativity to bring imagination to life. Initially a pop-up at the 2018 ILLUMINATE: Light Art and Creative Technology Festival, the exhibit became a year-round attraction due to its immense popularity.
“We are excited to unveil the reimagined Dreamscapes, continuing to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation,” says Derek Dyer, Executive Director of Utah Arts Alliance. “This new chapter introduces interactive experiences for all ages, reinforcing our commitment to innovative art forms and community engagement. We invite everyone to explore this fantastical world where dreams come to life.”
Over the past six years, Dreamscapes has moved four times within Salt Lake County. Each move provided the opportunity to reinvent the experience, adding new artists, characters, and engagement elements. This latest relocation and rebuild continues that tradition of growth and evolution.
Sustainability at the Core
Sustainability has always been central to Dreamscapes.
With partners like the Salt Palace Convention Center and Mountain America Expo Center, Utah Arts Alliance has repurposed over 68,100 lbs. of donated materials. Local artists have contributed work that complements our sustainable approach, with many pieces built using upcycled materials. Visitors will encounter murals by established local artist Scott Tuckfield as well as new talented artists like Josie Callahan, who has contributed custom door paintings and utilized these materials in a creative way.
Interactive Exploration
This version of Dreamscapes introduces new interactive elements for visitors to enjoy. From crawling through secret tunnels to swimming in a ball pit, Dreamscapes encourages playful exploration and invites visitors to embrace their inner child.
“Art has the power to inspire, heal, and bring people together, and Dreamscapes is a testament to that impact,” says Dyer.
“This reopening celebrates imagination and innovation, highlighting art’s transformative role in our lives.”
Returning to The Gateway
Utah Arts Alliance is excited to return Dreamscapes to its original home at The Gateway, alongside the Urban Arts Gallery.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dreamscapes back to The Gateway, the original home of this incredible experience,” says Julissa Breslin, Marketing Director for The Gateway. “Utah Arts Alliance has played a key role in helping The Gateway become a dynamic destination for locals and visitors alike. Re-launching Dreamscapes here is a significant step in expanding their footprint and complementing the variety of experiences we offer.”
