Park City, UT — The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau proudly announced its 2025 Legislative Policy Agenda, outlining its approach to tackling key issues affecting the local community and business environment. The Utah State Legislature session commences today, January 21, 2025, and will run through March 7, 2025.
Rooted in economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, workforce development and more, the 2025 Legislative Policy Agenda speaks to issues Park City must address to remain an attractive destination for businesses, visitors and residents. Highlights of the Legislative Policy Agenda include:
- Economic Prosperity and Business Climate: Maintain a stable and predictable regulatory business environment, tax structure; encourage smart economic development and sustainable initiatives; and advocate for investments and policy to preserve Utah’s branding as a favorable environment for business, tourism and job creation.
- Renewable Energy Development & Water Conservation: Promote investments in solar, wind and geothermal energy to diversify Utah’s energy supply and protect critical resources like the Great Salt Lake.
- Transportation Infrastructure Improvements: Accelerate regional transportation projects, including SR224/Kimball Junction and SR 248, to ensure seamless mobility for residents and visitors.
- Short-term Rental Compliance: Advocate for licensing enforcement and equality in tax collections to create a level playing field for all lodging providers.
- Workforce Housing Initiatives: Support public-private partnerships to expand affordable housing options in Summit County while addressing the impacts of short-term rentals on the local housing inventory.
