Salt Lake City — Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area is thrilled to announce the expansion of its service area to now include Davis County, in addition to Salt Lake and Tooele Counties.

Formerly known as Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity, this expansion underscores the organization’s commitment to making affordable homeownership a reality for more families throughout the Greater Wasatch Front in Utah. With this growth, Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area will be able to reach even more low- to moderate-income households in need of safe, affordable housing solutions.

“We are excited to serve a broader region and partner with more communities in the Greater Salt Lake Area. This expansion is a pivotal step toward providing more families with the stability that comes with homeownership,” said Carin Crowe, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area. “We are grateful for the ongoing support from our community, partners, and donors who make this important work possible.”

In conjunction with this exciting development, Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area will celebrate the 15-year anniversary of the Salt Lake Valley ReStore. Since its founding, the ReStore has been a vital part of supporting the mission of Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area ReStore by selling new and gently used building materials, furniture, appliances, and home goods, with all proceeds going toward building affordable housing in our communities.

To mark the ReStore’s 15th anniversary, a special community celebration will take place:

Event Details:
• Date: Wednesday, November 13th, 2024
• Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
• Location: Salt Lake Valley ReStore, 1276 S 500 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

“We’re incredibly proud of what the ReStore has accomplished over the past 15 years,” said Chris Towson, Board President. “It has not only provided affordable materials to countless homeowners but has also been a major funding source for building homes in partnership with families who need a hand up, not a handout.”

The public is warmly invited to join the festivities and help celebrate both the expansion of Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area and the remarkable achievements of the Salt Lake Valley ReStore over the past 15 years.
