Park City, UT — The first-ever Wasatch Outdoor Industry Summit will be held Thursday, Sept. 26 at Skullcandy headquarters in Park City, organizers announced today. The summit will bring together senior executive leaders from the outdoor, sports and wellness industries to network and hear from speakers on the theme of “People, Purpose and Profits.” The keynote and panel discussions will highlight success stories of achieving financial objectives while maintaining a strong culture in high-touch businesses.
“People and culture are two of a company’s biggest and most valuable assets, and profitability is key to sustaining a business,” said Jessica Klodnicki, CEO at Utah based KT Tape, and one of the organizers of the summit. “This summit will help bring real-world examples and provide ways to have it all — people, purpose and profit. You don’t have to give up one for the other, and the outdoor industry is a prime example of that.”
Cotopaxi Co-Founder Stephan Jacob will deliver the keynote address. The event also features networking segments and two panel discussions, “How to scale without losing your brand’s soul” and “Building cultures and companies of resilience in a rapidly changing industry.” Panel participants include both investors/funders and senior executives from leading companies along the Wasatch.
The event will be free to attendees. And, after the event, there will be an optional hike and mountain bike opportunity for those that would like to participate.
The summit is being organized by leaders from KT Tape, Deer Valley, Ferron Creek, Hadrian Search, Skullcandy, and Divitius Partners. The summit organizers intend to host similar events annually, bringing together outdoor industry leaders and experts to discuss topics of greatest shared interest and build stronger relationships within the local industry.
