Pleasant Grove, UT — On Saturday, July 13th, the first franchise of the Pittsburgh-famous Milkshake Factory is celebrating its grand opening in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
In 1914, Greek immigrants Charlie and Orania opened their very first chocolate and soda shop in Pittsburgh.
Now, over 100 years later, their descendants (and leaders of the Milkshake Factory) are celebrating the Grand Opening of the very first store outside of Pittsburgh.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m., with the store opening immediately after. The day’s festivities will also include prize drawings and fun photo opportunities and interaction with local college mascots. Members of the Milkshake Factory founding family and leadership will also be in attendance.
In the weeks since the shop started preview openings, it has already become one of the top performing Milkshake Factory locations. The shop’s success shows what a good match it is for the local dessert scene and speaks volumes about the franchise owner, Micah Keith, and his experience promoting high quality brands across the country.
“We are so excited to bring MilkShake Factory to Utah! Having lived in Pittsburgh and having moved back here to be closer to family and bringing a bit of the ‘Burgh to share with everyone is really special to us,” says Micah Keith, owner of the new franchise. “Much like the founding family, we look forward to serving delicious, drinkable milkshakes and premium, gourmet chocolates to our friends and family here for generations to come!”
About the Milkshake Factory:
The Milkshake Factory is Pittsburgh-based and built on the legacy of two Greek immigrants, Charlie and Orania. In 1914, they started their own chocolate shop after moving to the country. Now, over a century later, they use the family recipes to serve handspun shakes, craft sundaes, and gourmet chocolates just as their great grandparents did. Their legacy is carried on by making house-made ice cream daily and only serving the highest quality products to customers.
