Brigham City, UT — Metl-Span®, a Nucor company, has begun operating its new insulated metal panel (IMP) manufacturing facility located in Brigham City, Utah. Nucor Corporation is North America’s largest steel producer and recycler. Nucor produces steel by recycling scrap metal in electric arc furnaces to make new steel products, making the company one of the most sustainable steel producers in the world. The new $35 million, 127,000 square foot facility is bringing approximately 60 new high-quality manufacturing jobs to Brigham City, and will produce a comprehensive range of insulated wall and roof panels or use in end markets such as warehousing, distribution and data centers. IMPs facilitate cost-effective climate control in the built environment and reduce energy usage and overall operations related GHG emissions for owners and lessees.

As a pioneer in sustainability steelmaking over the past fifty-plus years, Nucor takes pride in offering solutions that empower our customers and communities to reduce energy costs and minimize their carbon footprint. Built with sustainability in mind, the new NIPG facility features enhanced energy efficiency thanks to its own façade of high-performance Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs) used for walls and roofs from Metl-Span®. In addition, panels produced at the new Brigham City plant can be made with sustainably produced, Nucor steel. Combined with a foam system that features zero ozone-depletion and low global-warming-potential, the system achieves high insulation values.

Approximately 1,000 of Nucor’s 32,000+ teammates work for NIPG. This new state-of-the-art Utah facility is our tenth NIPG operating facility in the U.S. and Canada. Along with our headquarters in Lewisville, Texas and our R-&-D and Testing facility, the NIPG team has the capacity to design, produce and deliver close to 100,000 tons of insulated panel product every year. We service customers across North America with a range of sustainable solutions for all their construction needs.
