Layton, UT—A ceremony conducted during their 100th year of business, the Young Automotive Group celebrated the grand opening of their new headquarters on March 29.
“The size of our operation is not because of a solo effort, or a duet or even an ensemble. It is a very large orchestra,” Spencer Young Sr., the Young Automotive Group’s chief adventure officer said. “We are very proud of the Young Automotive Group’s 100 years in business and this new facility.”
Held at the building’s location next to Main Street in Layton, vendors such as Crisp Catering, Behind the Soda Bar and Batch Baked Goods provided refreshments for attendees. The Dave Bowen’s Orchestra also performed at the event to add to the ambiance.
Shortly after the ceremony began, executives within the Young Automotive Group as well as local government officials delivered speeches to guests, including Layton city mayor Joy Petro, Davis County’s commissioner Bob Stevenson and the Davis County Chamber of Commerce’s president Angie Osguthorpe.
“It’s exciting to know that we’re here today,” Joy Petro, Layton city’s mayor said during her address. “It’s finally come about and to know what you plan on doing in this community and you can’t think of a better way to celebrate that.”
Following the speeches, the crowd moved outside for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Once finished, they were invited back in for a video viewing in the Young Automotive Group’s theater-like lecture hall.
A 145,000 sq. ft. facility, the headquarters house 250 office spaces, a gallery and a state of the art automotive parts warehouse. Also located in the building are the offices for the Young Automotive Group’s nonprofit, the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation
The completion of the headquarters building coincides with the company’s celebration of 100 years in business. Founded by Morgan county mechanic Seldon “Jack" Olsen in 1924, the Young Automotive Group has become a 29 dealership operation with locations across three states.
“We’re growing to provide opportunities for our employees to grow and to contribute to communities,” Spencer Young Jr., the Young Automotive Group’s president said. “We’re a family business being run by families and we want to continue that legacy going forward for another 100 years.”
The Young Automotive Group will celebrate another grand opening for their Truck and Trailer dealership in Kaysville, Utah on April 26 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
