Salt Lake City — The Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah), Salt Lake City, and the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (Go Utah) is pleased to announce that Vobev is bringing manufacturing and distribution operations and up to 400 jobs to Utah.

“Vobev is supporting the local economy through the development of business relationships, taxes, and local employment opportunities,” says Dan Hemmert, Go Utah’s executive director. “We’re gratified that they are investing in employees through offering competitive pay, benefits, and training on state-of-the-art equipment.”

Established in 2019, Vobev is the first independent can maker and filler in North America to streamline the beverage supply chain under one roof. The company has collected a diverse group of experienced professionals in safety, quality, human resources, manufacturing, beverage production, and customer service.

“Utah is the place for industrious people, heightened accessibility, and innovation,” says Eric Cudnohoske, GM of Vobev. “Through the support of the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, we have established our roots and are eager to bring more opportunities to the state and further work to establish Salt Lake as the beverage hub for North America.”

Vobev enables new and established brands to go to market faster and encourages innovation through testing new options. Brands can benefit from can making and filling and beverage production under one roof with a 5x supply chain reduction. The manufacturing facility will be operational in Q4 2021. Vobev will produce, fill, and package cans, supporting a variety of beverages including waters, carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks, wine, spirits, seltzers, and more.

The company is occupying approximately 1.2 million square feet of industrial space. Rusty Bollow and Ryan Flint of Colliers – Salt Lake City (an EDCUtah investor) – provided location consulting services for the company.

“Utah’s capital city welcomes the opportunity that Vobev represents to further diversify our economy,” says Ben Kolendar, director of Salt Lake City’s Department of Economic Development. “Their ability to support entrepreneurs and those hoping to scale their beverage brands will be beneficial. Our skilled workforce and world-class transportation infrastructure will also support their growth.”

“In our interactions with them, we understand Vobev to be a company that values safety, quality, and people,” says Theresa A. Foxley, president and CEO of EDCUtah. “They will find a good fit in Utah’s manufacturing and distribution sector.”
