Due the extended Open Enrollment period, Rebecca Yates, licensed insurance broker, contributing policy member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), consultant and owner of Ark Insurance Solutions, LLC., will be hosting this FREE health insurance consultation along with a mobile vaccine unit to assist people with navigating the Healthcare.gov system, elevate their current health insurance plan to ensure people have the best plan to fit their needs and to provide easy access to receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
“Most Americans are not aware that everything changed with the insurance exchange April 1,” Yates said. “Now 4 out of 5 applicants on Healthcare.gov are getting insurance for $10 a month, and we want to make sure people know that it is available.”
Who will benefit the most:
· Part-time employees, gig workers, and 1099’s. Most in these categories are not offered health insurance. Often this type of work leaves people uninsured.
· Employees who work for small businesses. Many small businesses do not offer insurance or offer unaffordable plans. The increased subsidies and the expanded enrollment window gives these businesses an opportunity to help their employees get affordable insurance, without the company paying for it.
· Adults that are 55 to 64. Their premiums are up to 3 times that of their younger counterparts. The new subsidy will cap premiums at 8.5% of their income, which is estimated to be a 61% savings for this demographic, according to the Congressional Budget Office
This FREE consultation event will be held on May 24th from 11 am-1 pm at 1166 Pioneer Road, Draper, Utah 84020 in partnership with the Draper Chamber of Commerce. We ask that people interested in getting the COVID vaccine register here in advance to ensure there are enough vaccines on hand.
