Ogden— Ogden’s Own Distillery has partnered with Deborah Czeresko, world-renowned glass artist and Season 1 winner of Netflix’s “Blown Away" to create a one-of-a-kind piece of glass art for a good cause. Introducing “Morph," a completely handmade, abstract-style glass decanter set modeled after Czeresko’s original work from Season 1 of Blown Away. Morph features a decanter and four matching rocks glasses, perfect for serving your favorite Ogden’s Own expressions straight-up or in your go-to cocktail.
The best part about Morph and the collaboration between Ogden’s Own and Czeresko is that it centers around a great cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised for Morph, which will be crowdsourced by the participants in the opportunity drawing, will be donated evenly across two local organizations that provide support for the Utah LGBTQ+ community: the Utah PRIDE Center and Equality Utah. Czeresko has a close connection with both the state of Utah and the LGBTQ+ community, and Ogden’s Own has proven to be a consistent force in supporting both freedom of expression as well as the local community, especially the food & beverage industry as well as the LGBTQ+ population. This joint effort presents any fans of Ogden’s Own or Deborah Czeresko with a rare opportunity to both support a great cause and potentially win a one-of-a-kind artwork that any glass art collector or spirits aficionado would love.
“Supporting and celebrating diversity and inclusion has always been at the core of what Ogden’s Own represents,” said Steve Conlin, CEO of Ogden’s Own Distillery. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Deborah, a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community who is recognized worldwide for her glass blowing talent, to create something truly special for our fans that will make a positive impact with our local organizations.”
Valued at $8,000, any fans 21+ years of age can enter to win Morph, with the option to donate funds towards the two aforementioned charitable organizations, Utah PRIDE Center and Equality Utah. Ogden’s Own’s public relations team will be facilitating the opportunity drawing, with the winners selected at random and notified of their win via email. Morph will then be shipped to them directly.About Ogden’s Own
Ogden’s Own is based in Ogden, Utah, and gained notoriety for its unique expressions and its often-satirical playfulness on stereotypes in its home state. Founded in 2009, Ogden’s Own’s first product was Underground Herbal Spirit, which was met with immediate acclaim, winning a Double Gold Medal from the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012. The distillery then released Five Wives Vodka, which the brand is perhaps best known for today due to the national notoriety it received upon hitting the market. The name “Five Wives” was such a topic of controversy within conservative-leaning Utah and surrounding states that Idaho refused to sell the product, prompting a national lawsuit where Ogden’s Own ultimately prevailed. Today, Ogden’s Own remains devoted to championing freedom of expression and offering its handcrafted, gluten-free products at an accessible, affordable price point. Their wide portfolio of expressions ensures that any customer can find a product that is suitable to his/her palate.About Deborah Czeresko:Heavily influenced by an extensive background in hot glass fabrication, Czeresko’s work is preoccupied by the cultural significance and the hierarchical systems of value that exist within the objects and beings that surround us. To this end, the work embodies everyday objects fabricated in glass, exploring social and cultural psychologies. A New York City-based artist, fabricator, and lighting designer, Czeresko uses a range of approaches and techniques in her work including hot glass sculpting, performance, and collaboration. She began working with glass at UrbanGlass in 1987 after earning a BA in psychology from Rutgers University. In 1992, she earned a graduate degree in studio art at Tulane University, New Orleans. Since then, she has been a glassblowing instructor and visiting artist at many universities and schools throughout the United States and in Europe, most recently at Tyler School of Arts in Philadelphia, College of Creative Studies in Detroit, and LUCA School of Arts in Ghent.
