As Promontory Club enters its second golf season operating three 18-hole golf courses, Park City’s most exclusive and coveted, private community welcomes a new Director of Golf, Lance Patterson. A highly respected, first-rate PGA professional, Lance brings more than 25 years of experience leading premier golf operations and delivering world-class member experiences. He most recently was Director of Golf at Dallas Athletic Club, a 36-hole private facility where he oversaw more than 60,000 annual rounds and developed a reputation for fostering team culture, modernizing operations, and creating a hospitality-first experience. Under his leadership, the club achieved record highs in tournament participation, lesson volume, retail sales, junior golf, and overall member engagement.

“The summer months put golf at the forefront of member activity at Promontory Club, and I am committed to providing our members the absolute best golfing experiences in the whole Mountain West. Lance’s exceptional track record for creating memorable golf made him the perfect choice for our new Director of Golf,” said Francis Najafi, Developer and CEO of Promontory.

In addition to the three golf courses and their respective practice facilities, Patterson will oversee Promontory’s entire golf program which also includes an 18-hole putting course, the Golf Academy at Promontory (the GAP) and four, state-of-the-art Simulator bays located inside The Hills Golf Clubhouse (Awarded 2024 Clubhouse of the Year by Golf, Inc).

“Promontory members’ golf participation is at an all-time high, making this an opportune time to have Lance join us as Director of Golf with his proven track record of creating unparalleled member experiences,” said Kelli Brown, the General Manager of Promontory. “We are thrilled to welcome Lance to our team. We look forward to our members and their guests experiencing his infectious passion for both hospitality and the sport as we usher in a new era of golf at Promontory Club.”

A graduate of Baylor University, Patterson has been honored by the Northern Texas PGA Section with multiple awards, including Teacher of the Year, Horton Smith Award, and Merchandiser of the Year.

“Joining the team of such a prestigious club like Promontory is an incredible honor,” said Lance Patterson. “I look forward to becoming part of this impressive, high-caliber community and further elevating the golf program. My wife, Stephanie and I can’t wait to embrace the mountain lifestyle we have always craved.”

Patterson swings into his new role on May 1, just in time for the beginning of another glorious golf season at Promontory.
