The Utah Manufacturers Association (UMA) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Tulinda Larsen to the UMA team as Senior Advisor. Dr. Larsen will play a pivotal role in assisting UMA with workforce grant applications and implementation, as well as working with the UMA team to create a consortium for Utah’s Cut & Sew Manufacturing Industry. Additionally, she will support a new proposal application to the National Science Foundation’s Experiential Learning for Emerging and Novel Technologies (ExLENT) program.

“Dr. Larsen brings tremendous grant expertise to UMA, which will expand our UMA Education Foundation and better serve Utah’s manufacturers in all markets and sectors,” said Todd Bingham, CEO of the manufacturers association.

Dr. Larsen formerly served as President of the Utah Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Initiative (UAMMI), currently known as the 47G UAMMI Institute. Between 2020 and 2024, she successfully secured over $30 million in funding to support, advance and promote Utah’s advanced manufacturing sector.

“I am looking forward to working with UMA to lend my expertise and extensive background in advanced manufacturing for the benefit of manufacturers in the state of Utah. This is such an opportunity to strengthen Utah’s manufacturing industry,” said Dr. Tulinda Larsen.

We are truly excited to have Dr. Larsen join the UMA team. She is poised to enhance its support for manufacturers across the state. Her leadership will be instrumental in advancing UMA’s mission to strengthen and develop resources that create innovation in Utah’s manufacturing industry.
