South Jordan—AdvancedMD, the pioneer of Rhythm®, a unified cloud platform of smart clinical, billing and patient applications that automate tasks for all roles in the practice and patients, appoints John Marron as Vice President and General Manager of the Revenue Cycle Management division. For nearly 25 years Marron has led healthcare organizations to improve business performance through product innovation and operational efficiencies. In his new role at AdvancedMD, he will ensure superior claims processing through innovation and automation, backed by white glove client support. Previously, Marron was Vice President of business development and product management for Gateway EDI, expanding its software and technology services division from the ground up. Marron also was responsible for assisting with the Gateway EDI acquisition by TriZetto Provider Solutions (a Cognizant Co.), as well as other acquisitions for the new company. Most recently, Marron served as CEO of inMediata Health Group, Charlotte, NC, focusing on leveraging technology to reconcile payments, remittances and deposits, and delivery of innovative solutions to reimbursement challenges. There, he improved operational efficiencies, accelerated business growth, and transformed the culture of people development while also bringing to market several new innovative RCM products. Previously, Marron gained deep payer experience during 10 years at Aetna, where he led the team supporting electronic transactions with their provider network, achieving millions of dollars in savings each year. Marron holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa. He is an active member of the industry, having served on the board of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) from 2001-2002; as a Commissioner for the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) from 2003-2006; and presented at the MGMA annual conference in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Also joining the AdvancedMD RCM leadership team reporting to Marron is Greg O’Neil, Director of RCM Operations who is the former Operations Team Director for Intermountain Healthcare Revenue Cycle.

Salt Lake City—Prudential Financial, Inc., has named Moira Buckley the Western Territory Vice President of Prudential Advisors, which includes Utah. Buckley, who has been at the company for 24 years, is the third woman to hold this position.

Salt Lake City—Colliers International announced that Rusty Bollow, MRED CCIM, and Andy Wheeler, CCIM, have joined the firm’s downtown Salt Lake City office at 111 Main. Bollow and Wheeler will work in direct partnership as senior vice presidents at Colliers. The newly formed team will play a critical role as Colliers continues to build the premier industrial services offering in the Utah market. Previously, Bollow served as senior vice president at Newmark Grubb ACRES. He specialized in industrial, land and investment properties. He has completed more than 640 transactions, representing clients in the acquisition and/or disposition of over 12 million square feet of facilities and an excess of 600 acres of land sales. Bollow earned a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) degree and a graduate certification in urban planning from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Wheeler was previously vice president at JLL. He specialized in industrial distribution, industrial flex and industrial land. Prior to working at JLL, he worked as a broker for Newmark Grubb ACRES and Pyramid Brokerage Company. He holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, a recognition held by only 6 percent of an estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide.

Salt Lake City—Tanner LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Drysdale, CPA, as International Tax Director for the firm. Drysdale has 12 years of experience assisting large and small companies navigate the complex world of international tax and cross-border transactions. His expertise includes global tax structuring, subpart F income mitigation, foreign tax attribute determination, treaty analysis, international aspects of accounting for income taxes, operational transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, IP planning, and reporting of cross-border transactions. He is an expert on the international tax aspects of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

He previously was employed with PwC’s international tax group in Atlanta, Georgia where he served many Fortune 500 companies expanding globally. He also served as Director of International Tax for SanDisk Corporation responsible for all international tax planning, compliance, provision, transfer pricing, and audit defense. Drysdale received his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Accounting, with an emphasis on tax, from Brigham Young University and is a licensed CPA in the State of Utah and a member of the Utah Association of CPAs (UACPA).

Salt Lake City—The Alliance of American Football introduced Alliance Salt Lake, its fourth announced market, and unveiled Dennis Erickson as the team’s head coach. Erickson’s coaching career spans 47 years across the collegiate and professional level. At age 34, Erickson was hired as the head coach of the University of Idaho and went on to become Idaho’s all-time winningest head coach in just four seasons (1982-85). After successful stints at Wyoming (1986) and Washington State (1987-88), Erickson replaced Jimmie Johnson as head coach of Miami. In six seasons with the Hurricanes, Erickson won two national championships and accumulated a 63-9 record, the highest win percentage in school history. Erickson transitioned to the NFL as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks for three seasons, before returning to college at Oregon State. There, he led one of college football’s biggest turnarounds, coaching the team to its first winning season in 29 years. In 2000, the Beavers defeated Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl, punctuating an 11-1 season that netted Erickson a National Coach of the Year nomination. Erickson returned to the NFL as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 2003-05. He then served as head coach at Idaho (2006) and Arizona State (2007-11) before joining the Utes in 2013 as co-offensive coordinator.

Salt Lake City—The Suazo Business Center is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors. Lucy Cardenas is a Utah icon. She is a member of the Cardenas family, who have been a fixture of the Utah restaurant scene since 1965. She is the owner operator of the Red Iguana, Red Iguana 2, and Taste of the Red Iguana in the Salt Lake Valley. Cardenas distinguished herself in the restaurant industry nationally, having trained all levels of restaurant operations staff of well-known restaurants from Honolulu to Houston. Within 5 years of purchasing her family’s restaurant in 2005, she had doubled the Red Iguana’s revenues. Her restaurants have been featured nationally and have won many culinary arts awards. Steve Downing hails from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. In his role as Station Manager for Telemundo Utah, a Telemundo Network affiliate station owned by Serestar Communications, he is responsible for the station’s operations and community affairs. His prolific career in Spanish-language media has allowed him to support organizations in their efforts to connect, inform, and give back to the community.
