Park City—Sentient Lasers, a Utah-based leader in the pre-owned aesthetic laser industry, announced the addition of Stan Olson as senior marketing manager. In his new role, Olson will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive revenue and growth for Sentient Lasers. Olson joins Sentient Lasers with more than 15 years of experience as a marketing strategy and product development executive in consumer-packaged goods and medical industries. A skilled marketing professional, Olson has led the development and launch of over $122 million in new product lines. Olson graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing advertising and earned his MBA with a focus in strategic marketing and brand management from the Gore School of Business. Olson will be based in the company’s Kamas headquarters.

Salt Lake City—Dental Select is excited to announce two changes to its leadership team: the promotion of Jeff Van Leeuwen to Vice President of Sales and Suzette Musgrove as Chief Growth Officer. As Vice President of Sales, Van Leeuwen will work closely with and be responsible for all sales employees, building and identifying strategic business opportunities, and furthering the advancement of nationwide development. Van Leeuwen will report directly to Brent Williams, President and CEO of Dental Select. As the new Chief Growth Officer, Musgrove will oversee all business development activities, including key General Agent (GA) partnership opportunities and distribution strategies, and continue to report to Williams. Van Leeuwen has more than 19 years of experience in the group insurance industry working with employer sponsored and voluntary benefit plans, including dental, medical, 401(k), disability, vision and life insurance. Van Leeuwen, a Utah native, received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Utah and has been an active member of the Utah Association of Health Underwriters since 2001. Musgrove has had three decades of professional experience in the dental industry, and she has played a key role in the strategic initiatives and daily operations within Dental Select for nearly 20 years. Musgrove has led the company’s customer care teams, claims, operations and account administration. Additionally, she has been responsible for the company’s sales and marketing strategies. Musgrove has been a lecturer for the Utah Dental Association, and is a member of both the National Association of Dental Plans and the National Dental Electronic Data Interchange Council.

Salt Lake City—Holland & Hart Partner Bryan Benard was named the 2017 Labor & Employment section Attorney of the Year by the Utah State Bar. This award is presented annually to a member of the Bar who has made outstanding contributions of time and talents to Bar activities as well as provided outstanding services, programs, and/or activities for Bar members and the public during the past year. The award was presented on August 16 at the Labor & Employment Section Annual Meeting. Benard regularly represents both private and public employers in wrongful termination, harassment, and discrimination claims in both federal and state courts, as well as in administrative proceedings before federal and state agencies. Benard’s clients appreciate his sound, seasoned, and pragmatic counsel on a full spectrum of employment issues. Last year, Benard was awarded the prestigious 2016 President’s Award of Excellence from the Salt Lake Chamber for his pivotal role providing legal expertise to a working group of business leaders and state legislators, as well as the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, on non-compete legislation throughout the legislative session.

In this role, Swensen is responsible for leveraging the USI ONE Advantage® to drive strategic growth and build new client relationships throughout Utah, and attract and maintain talented insurance professionals. Swensen brings 18 years of insurance industry knowledge to the team, with vast experience in the property and casualty insurance business. He is a proven sales leader with a history of exceeding his goals throughout his career, and has trained numerous producers to achieve notable success. Swensen’s experience expands a wide range of industry verticals including group captives, professional liability, workers’ compensation and property and casualty.

Draper—In a move to increase expansion efforts and establish a more recognized presence in the southeastern part of the United States, Aqua-Yield announced the hiring of Frank Jones as the company’s new Regional Sales Manager for Florida and Georgia. Jones joins a growing and energetic sales force, which carries the responsibility of brining the company’s nano-particulated liquid fertilizer to all parts of the country. Jones is a native Floridian and in fact, parts of his family can be traced back 1765 in Florida. Raised on a farm about 50 miles west of Gainesville, Jones and his family raised corn, tobacco and peanuts, as well as hogs and cattle. Jones graduated from the University of Florida with a BS degree in Ag Economics and has spent the last 30 years in immersed in the Florida/Georgia ag sector. Included in that experience are 2.5 years with DuPont as a Range & pasture Specialist covering 5 states: FL, GA, SC, NC, & VA. Jones has been a certified crop advisor since 1997. Aqua-Yield also named Mark Mitchell as its Director of Sales. Mitchell joined the company in October of 2016 as a regional sales manager and quickly committed to growing Aqua-Yield’s nationwide sales presence.

Salt Lake City—AT&T welcomes Matthew Langer as director of sales for AT&T Utah operations. In his new role, Langer is responsible for the successful operation and overall performance of Utah sales and distribution. Langer leads a team of 150 employees in more than 50 locations. Langer joined the AT&T family 17 years ago. He has honed his leadership experience in numerous positions, most recently as an area retail sales manager in Phoenix, Ariz. A veteran and former Marine, Langer was stationed in California and deployed overseas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. A CrossFit enthusiast and outdoor adventurist, Langer resides in Salt Lake City with his wife and two sons.

Salt Lake City—LifeVantage Corporation announced the appointment of Kevin McMurray to the position of General Counsel. A veteran of the health and wellness industry, McMurray brings over 25 years of legal expertise to LifeVantage where he will be responsible for leading the legal department and serving as counsel to the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining LifeVantage, McMurray served as Assistant General Counsel at USANA Health Sciences since 2004. While at USANA, he helped implement its first distributor compliance program while playing an integral role in the company’s expansion into new international markets. McMurray also served as Associate General Counsel for Unicity International and Assistant General Counsel for Shaklee Corporation. He received his J.D. from Creighton University and a Master of Laws Degree from the University of the Pacific.

Anderson is an industrial and development services specialist joining NGA from Coldwell Banker Commercial. He brings with him a strong network that he leverages to provide superior service to his clients. Anderson has a reputation for integrity and hard work and is consistent in helping his clients accomplish their real estate goals. Anderson grew up in the development/construction industry, building his knowledge from a young age. He cultivated his passion for real estate by working with his family’s development company, acquiring his Utah State General Contractors License and overseeing the construction of several projects statewide. In 2008, he completed his real estate licensing and transitioned into commercial real estate. Since then, Anderson has handled over $30 million in transactions and has grown his impressive list of clients. Anderson received his Bachelor of Science in finance from Utah Valley University and is working toward his master’s in real estate development from the University of Utah along with his CCIM designation.

Park City—Ryan Kartchner, president of the Utah Professional Golf Association, will be named Promontory Club’s director of golf Oct. 1, 2017. Kartchner brings to Promontory 20 years of experience in the Utah golf community and two awards from the PGA President’s Council of Growing the Game. Kartchner works closely with the national PGA of America leadership and is involved with the governance and the direction of the PGA. Starting his career in the Salt Lake County System at the Old Mill Golf course in 1997, he became the director of golf at the Hidden Valley Country Club, where he has led for the last 8 years. Kartchner’s dedication to representing Utah’s PGA Professionals on a national level has made him one of the most respected PGA professionals in the country.

Salt Lake City, Los Angeles—Corbin Dangerfield has joined Grandpoint Bank’s Government Guaranteed Lending department as a business development officer. Dangerfield will be responsible for marketing and originating government guaranteed loan products for Grandpoint Bank. Grandpoint offers a variety of government guaranteed loan products that provide alternatives if a traditional credit product is not well suited for a small or medium-sized business. These include loans through the SBA, the USDA and the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. These government-backed loans require less cash investment up front and offer longer loan terms than conventional loans. Dangerfield served in the same capacity previously for Meadows Bank in Las Vegas. His experience also includes serving as a vice president and business development officer at Lehman Brothers and as a commercial real estate broker at NAI Commercial Real Estate.
