Salt Lake City– Lyft is proud to announce its partnership with the Salt Lake City Fisher House to provide transportation solutions for Veterans and their families while they receive treatment at the VA Hospital.
“We are honored to partner with Fisher House to remove any transportation barriers for guests and support the amazing work they are doing for Veterans and their families,” said Jeremy Neigher, Lyft Utah Market Manager.
Guests at the Fisher House have the opportunity to stay in a home-like setting, surrounded by other families while their loved one is receiving treatment at the VA Hospital. The Fisher House relies on partnerships and support from the community to provide the families with housing and meals during their stay.
“We are grateful to Lyft for providing our families with much needed transportation and enabling us to expand our support services,” said Quinn Kiger-Good, Salt Lake City Fisher House Manager. “Alleviating major stressors for our families enables them to focus on their Veteran’s well-being.”
Lyft was founded in June 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. About Fisher House Salt Lake City
Fisher House provides a ‘home away from home’ for families to stay, free of charge, while their loved one is receiving medical treatment. Because veterans often travel long distances in order to receive medical care at the Salt Lake VA, the Fisher House will continue to fulfill a critical need in a vast geographical area that is highly rural. Veterans and their families can enjoy a spectacular view of the Wasatch Mountains while they are in a comfortable environment that offers hope, community, and healing.
