Be bold, be brave and take risks. There’s no market for unoriginal thoughts on LinkedIn. You don’t become a leader — in life or online — by simply agreeing with people. “It doesn’t matter how well you write your post if you are the second person or the millionth person to say it,” McKisson says.

Speak up for others. McKissen believes LinkedIn’s helpful culture differentiates it from every other platform. And while many tend to use LinkedIn as a professional highlight reel, posts that speak up for others tend to perform well.

Say what’s in your heart. LinkedIn is a platform for connection in more ways than one. Oftentimes, “What’s in your heart is only the thing that someone else hasn’t already said,” McKisson says. The best posts make someone else feel seen — and you’ll never know who relates to you until you make your thoughts public.
