Salt Lake City–Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, a non-profit organization supported by community donations, is celebrating 40 years of learning through play, and Mark Miller Subaru is celebrating the release of its largest Subaru SUV. Together the community partners will reveal the new Mark Miller Subaru Express Service exhibit to families during an event on Friday, August 31 from 6–8 p.m.

The innovative new exhibit features a child-sized 2019 Subaru Ascent, which is the largest Subaru SUV ever built. Children will have the opportunity to work under the hood on the engine, change the oil, tighten lug nuts on all four tires, and fill the gas tank, as they learn about the science that drives the Subaru Ascent.

Members of Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum and VIP guests will get a special sneak preview of the Express Service exhibit on August 31 from 6-8 pm. The evening will start off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the exhibit gallery at 6 p.m. Guests will also be able to explore the all-new 2019 Subaru Accent with festivities and snacks outside Discovery Gateway’s street entrance on Rio Grande. The Mark Miller Subaru Express Service exhibit will be open to the public the following day on Saturday, September 1.

Jeff Miller, General Manager and part owner of both Mark Miller Subaru Dealerships, is especially looking forward to the exhibit opening. “I’ve got three young children myself, so I know how important it is for our youth to have these sorts of hands-on experiences, and how inspiring it can be for their future. After getting into their uniform, young visitors will be able to completely step into the role as a mechanic from changing the oil to tightening the lug nuts on the Ascent’s tires. I’ve been really excited about collaborating with Discovery Gateway on this exhibit, but I know my children are even more excited to get their hands dirty as ‘Certified Subaru Technicians’ in our new Express Service exhibit.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Mark Miller Subaru for our Express Service exhibit, which supports our mission to provide educational experiences that are fun and welcoming to the diverse families and children we serve,” stated Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum Executive Director Laurie Hopkins.
