VP, Project Management Office | Mountain America Credit Union
Chris Ebert’s career began with a role at a small software company in Salt Lake City, where she was first introduced to the world of technical support and training. When she transitioned into an IT project manager role at a local call center — which was not the path she initially envisioned — it ignited her enduring passion for project management. Understanding the pivotal importance of this role in steering projects in line with strategic ambitions, Chris created her role at Mountain America Credit Union from scratch. Her journey has been marked by continuous evolution and dedication to not just achieving organizational goals, but also driving positive change within her teams and the broader community.
What advice would you give to young women looking to succeed in your field?
To young women eyeing a future in project management, I say: Embrace learning at every turn, build lasting connections and trust in your own skills. With project management constantly evolving, challenges and growth opportunities go hand-in-hand. It’s vital to connect with mentors and peers who can provide guidance and perspective. Remember, your expertise and self-belief are crucial in mastering this field’s complexities. Stay confident and adaptable; these are the tools that will help you thrive.
What community projects or charity work are you involved in, and why are they important to you?
My engagement with community projects and charity work, particularly those focused on empowering women, is deeply important to me. I’m involved with Casting for Recovery and Armed Women of America, organizations dedicated to providing women with supportive environments for healing, growth and empowerment. Whether through outdoor retreats that offer solace and strength in nature or through education on self-defense and firearm safety, these initiatives align with my belief in the transformative power of community support and personal empowerment.
