Salt Lake City—The Salt Lake office of CBRE has been selected by Westport Capital Partners LLC to oversee the leasing of a 150,000-square-foot office building. The building is part of a premiere mixed-use development taking place at the site formerly occupied by Shopko at the intersection of I-80 and 1300 East in Sugar House. Tab Cornelison, Eric Smith, Nadia Letey and Scott Wilmarth will oversee the listing.
The state-of-the-art office building is designed to be a Class A structure comprised of six floors each encompassing 25,000 square feet. In addition to the office space, there will also be a small, street-level retail slot. The structure is part of a three-building development also consisting of a medical office facility and a planned apartment building. The University of Utah recently committed to occupy the entire medical office building to house a new build-to-suit ambulatory care center. The apartment building is designed to hold 100 units.
“Westport understands the importance of office tenants utilizing their real estate facilities to attract talent, and this office building has been designed with that concept in mind,” commented Cornelison, senior vice president. “The structure is in an ideal location to tap into its surroundings; it is directly across the street from Sugar House Park and sits next to a plethora of shopping, entertainment and dining options. The site also offers unmatched accessibility, with walking and biking trails, the S-Line streetcar, buses, and direct access to I-80.”
The site is currently being prepped for development. Construction of the office building is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2019.
