Are you where you thought you would be when you were 18?
Yes, I’m exactly where I envisioned I’d be. I’ve always been determined, even as a child. If you were to open my journal from when I was 12, you’d find a note that says, “I will own my own business by the time I’m 30.” While I wasn’t always sure of the exact path, I knew that with focus and hard work, I could make it happen. I just don’t think I had any idea how hard it would be or how big it would grow.
Who inspires you most?
What inspires me most is seeing other Latinas build success from nothing. Their journeys have shown me that the possibilities are endless and roadblocks are just bumps in the road. If they can create something out of virtually nothing, so can I. I remember watching the movie “Selena” as a kid and just being so impressed by her story, how hard she worked and how she didn’t stop. It was incredible to see what she built from nothing.
