What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I was originally attracted to tech and software because of the fast pace — and boy, has it delivered! With the ability to ship code hundreds of times in a single day, we are able to test, learn, fail and win faster than I ever imagined. As someone in strategy and operations, I am able to get quick feedback on our plans and a real assessment of how well we are actually executing.
What advice do you have for your younger self?
In my 20s and early 30s, I felt a lot of pressure to have a clear career path lined up and figured out. As a result, I stressed out over pretty small decisions. I didn’t focus on what I was enjoying and instead was focused on what I “should be” doing. I wish I had trusted myself more, focusing on what was giving me energy and fulfillment at the time. Careers are not linear or predictable paths. Hard work, luck and being true to yourself are how, I think, you find fulfilling and successful careers.
