After graduating from Utah State University, Anne Marie Leavitt McDonald kicked off her career as an event planner in Washington, D.C. It was within the event industry that she uncovered her knack for messaging and marketing, and in 2009, she founded a speaking agency. Anne Marie grew the business to represent a portfolio of 50 top world leaders in health care, and the agency was later acquired by Leavitt Partners. She transitioned into consulting work in 2016 and also co-founded Hycraft Homes, a custom home-building company, alongside her husband and another partner. In 2020, Anne Marie joined Gabb Wireless as VP of PR and communications, where she helped grow the business by 400 percent in two years. Today, as managing partner at Mam Capital, she invests in companies and drives growth through marketing strategies.
What is an accomplishment you’re very proud of?
In June, I launched Knockderry Castle on Instagram. Within 12 weeks, Knockderry Castle had a following of over 400,000 organic followers, and within the first year, we will hit 1M+ followers. I’m hooked on taking an idea and transforming it into a flourishing business. I’m also very proud of the relationships built along the way. When I reflect on all the chapters of my personal and professional life, it’s the people and relationships that mean the most to me.
What community projects or charity work are you involved in, and why are they important to you?
Giving back and community building are integral to my core values. I am collaborating with a talented team as well as Intermountain Health to develop a social intervention called “Can You Play?” This initiative is a platform that fosters connections among families and caregivers, aiding children in engaging and playing safely, particularly those facing mental, behavioral and physical health challenges and social obstacles. I believe this will make a significant impact in fostering a sense of belonging and providing essential support to the children who need it the most. To Main Page
