Creative Director | Blues
What are you most proud of in your career thus far?
While the branding work I helped create while at Vivint was an incredible experience, the work I have done at Blues over this last year has been some of the best I have ever done. In the early stages of my role, I helped put together the pitch deck that secured $32 million in funding. Building on that momentum, I redesigned the company’s branding and website, which broke industry norms and resulted in an incredible increase in engagement and global brand recognition. My work at Blues has been compared to that of agencies who charge hundreds of thousands for similar results, but my work is more precise, extensive and specialized.
What is the most fulfilling part of the work you do?
When I work on branding projects for companies of all sizes, I am able to witness the impact I am making both internally and externally. A successful branding strategy creates powerful symbols that can unite people toward a common goal. Seeing individuals come together as a group to achieve something seemingly impossible is a fulfilling experience that is difficult to surpass.
What advice do you have for other young professionals?
It’s important to set aside some time for yourself, especially amidst the constant influx of content and media bombarding us. Set aside time and find a distraction-free environment where you can engage in activities you are interested in. Initially, it may be challenging and uncomfortable, but once you establish the habit, you’ll notice a marked improvement in personal growth. There’s no need to stress about achieving specific objectives; exploring, learning and playing are all acceptable uses of your time. Be curious, try something new and let your creativity flow.
