Force for Good Foundation Manager | Nu Skin

Was there a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today?

As an 18-year-old, I wanted to live abroad to experience other cultures and looked into a variety of study programs and internships. I ended up applying for an internship with a nonprofit venture in Malawi, largely because it satisfied my itch for travel and lasted for the longest period of time. I didn’t know much about what I’d be doing, but that one internship shaped my entire college career to focus on global development and ultimately led to my current role with the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation. It’s crazy to reflect on all the experiences and opportunities that came my way just because I acted on my wanderlust as a teenager.

What is the most fulfilling part of the work you do?

I’m lucky to have a job dedicated entirely to making the world a better place. Working with different charity partners throughout the world makes it so that, even on my bad days, I can reflect and put my problems into perspective. The passion our global partners have for their projects is contagious, and that fuels me to work harder and expand the impact I have in my job.

What advice do you have for other young professionals?

You don’t have to have everything figured out! Some of the biggest strengths you can have throughout your career are curiosity, the willingness to try and the resilience to keep trying after failure. I’ve found that I achieve the greatest growth and success when I put myself in uncomfortable situations where I don’t completely know what I’m doing. Through asking questions and being willing to learn, I’ve obtained skills that will follow me through the rest of my career.
