Sixteen women have been selected as finalists in the second annual Women Tech Awards, presented by Women Tech Council and MountainWest Capital Network (MWCN). This program recognizes technology-focused women who are driving innovation, leading technology companies, and are key contributors to the community. Finalists and award recipients will be honored at an Awards Luncheon on Friday, September 18, 2009, at the Grand America, hosted by MWCN. Registration is available online.

“Among our finalists are five Ph.D.-level, three MBA-level and a number of master-degreed women, all doing remarkable work in the technology space,” remarks Sara Jones, Women Tech Council Executive Board Member and Shareholder at Workman Nydegger.
From the 16 finalists, six award recipients will be announced at the September 18th Awards Luncheon. A selection committee from private industry, venture, government and academic communities selected the finalists and will select the award recipients. USTAR, Epic Ventures, Workman Nydegger return among the award presenters at this year’s awards ceremony.
The Awards Luncheon will begin at noon on September 18, 2009, featuring keynote speaker Marguerite Hancock, Associate Director of Stanford Program on Regions of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SPRIE).
