Utah wins NASAA 2013 Conference

Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert and Francine A. Giani, executive director of the Utah Department of Commerce, announced that Salt Lake City has been chosen as the site for the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) Fall 2013 Conference. Around 500 NASAA members are expected to attend the September meeting which brings together securities regulators, securities law professionals, financial services industry representatives, consumer advocates and legislative and regulatory policymakers for an in-depth look at key financial services policy issues.

“We are delighted and honored that NASAA and its members voted to return to Utah for the fourth time in its organizations history and look forward to hosting this prestigious meeting in our capitol city,” said Herbert.

According to NASAA, the Fall 2013 Conference is expected to bring more than $1 million to the local economy through lodging, meals, and meeting related expenses by its members. NASAA cites that their first annual conference was held in Salt Lake City in 1922. This meeting was followed in 1928 with another annual conference in Salt Lake City and most recently in 1996 at Snowbird resort. NASAA will announce September 2013 meeting dates in a future press release.
