Sales and marketing professionals drive company success, said Tyler Dabo, Utah Business magazine publisher, at Thursday’s SAMY awards celebration.
Dabo said those being honored are the elite in their fields and deserve recognition, particularly in a time of specialization and change for both careers.
Much of his success can be attributed to the people around him, said Brandon Ross, Mity-Lite vice president of sales. “This award has very little to do with me and more to do with the company I keep and the company I work for,” he said.
Jeffrey Harmon, Orabrush chief marketing officer, agreed, saying his team and mentors had been instrumental to his success.
Cafe Rio Chief Marketing Officer Ben Craner also credited the restaurant’s customers with being great brand advocates. “It’s just my job to make sure those people continue to spread the word for us.”
The measurable results and contributions sales and marketing professionals make are only more important as the internet and other technologies transform their jobs, Dabo said.
