BARNEY: I think we can mess up a lot of things if we’re not careful with planning and strategy and all those things that bring people to Southern Utah with the open spaces and the beautiful sceneries that we have. If we do a good job of strategically planning for those values that we want to protect and enhance through education and through improvement, we have a great, very bright future.
TENNEY: I’m teaching an upper division marketing class, and 85 percent of my students are homegrown, and they all want to stay here. They’re bright individuals and just amazing to see. They are smart and they want to make something happen. And a lot of them are already doing that even before graduation, getting out there. They have that entrepreneurial spirit. They understand that there may not be a job for them, but they want to stay here in Southern Utah.
