Gov. Gary R. Herbert named Bountiful resident SUSAN DEVEY to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Devey is currently employed by L3 Communications. Her community service includes volunteer work, substitute teaching and serving as a community council member and PTA president. Members of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission serve a four-year term.
The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) hired CHRISTOPHER M. CONABEE as managing director of corporate recruitment and business services. Conabee will oversee all of the business development functions of incentives, government contracting, bonding and business resources. Conabee previously served as a principal of Paladin Development Partners, where he managed the development of Silver Star at Park City.
WES SWENSON was appointed CEO of C7 Data Centers, Inc. Swenson assumes the operational duties of NATE HATCH, who has been appointed as executive chairman. Swenson has responsibility for the operations of C7 Data centers, including all data center facilities and staff functions. Both men will work together in executive capacities to advance the mission of C7.
MediConnect Global Inc. added DINESH PATEL, Ph.D. to its board of directors. Patel co-founded the successful biotech company Theratech Inc. and served as president, CEO and chairman from 1985 until 1999, when the company was acquired by Watson Pharmaceuticals. He currently serves as chairman of the governing board of the Utah Science Technology and Research initiative (USTAR) and as a board member on a wide variety of nonprofit organizations.
CON L. WADSWORTH was named president of Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company (RLW). Wadsworth has been with RLW for 35 years. Wadsworth’s expertise in every facet of heavy highway construction has helped position RLW as one of the Intermountain West’s premier highway contractors, especially in the areas of design-build, CMGC and accelerated bridge construction.
GBS Benefits appointed NATALIE PRICE to lead a new division focusing on voluntary benefits. Price previously was the enrollment advisor for voluntary benefits servicing Humana’s Utah Market.
CHRISTIAN RUTHERFORD was named president of On Assignment, Inc.’s physician staffing division, VISTA Staffing Solutions. Rutherford is an 18-year veteran of the medical staffing industry.
SUNNY GOSAIN joined inContact as EVP and chief product officer. Gosain will manage and direct the company’s research and development and product management departments. He has extensive experience with the implementation of cloud-based software products and services, most recently as EVP and CTO at Compiere (acquired by Consona), where he led a global multisite organization responsible for cloud product strategy, R&D and customer service.
Deseret Digital Media (DDM) promoted MIKE PETROFF to executive vice president and COO. Petroff has played a leadership role in piloting multiple new revenue-generating product lines including a rapidly growing deals solution and the KSL Local directory business.
Westminster appointed LINDA MUIR as director for the Institute for New Enterprise. In her new role, Muir will manage the day-to-day details of the institute including fundraising activities, sponsor relations, development of entrepreneurial programs, marketing and recruitment of mentors.
SPENCER STEWART joined Grandeur Peak Global Advisors as a senior research analyst. Stewart joins Grandeur Peak from small cap boutique Sidoti & Company in New York City, where he was one of the firm’s leading institutional sales people. Stewart spent four years as a junior research analyst at Wasatch Advisors.
Rain International appointed BYRON BELKA to the position of executive vice president of global sales and marketing. Belka has been active in the direct sales industry for more than a decade, reaching the top commission level of his first network marketing company at the age of 28. Belka has been instrumental in successfully opening and expanding international markets by building cohesive worldwide teams.
GREG BUTTERFIELD has been named chair of Utah Valley University’s board of trustees for the 2011–2012 academic year. Butterfield is the managing partner of mentor capital consulting firm SageCreek Partners and has been on the UVU board since November 2008. For the past two years, he has served as the board’s vice chair.
BRAD JONES was promoted to CEO of CFOwise. DAVID SULLIVAN, TIM WEEKS and JEFF HALL are now director of operations, director of scoreboards & IT and director of marketing, respectively. KEN KAUFMAN will remain as founder and member of the executive team.
Gov. Herbert appointed DAVID HART, director of the Romney Institute of Public Management, to a new state council looking to give Utah an economic and a managerial boost. Hart and other Utah leaders will focus on cutting costs, streamlining services and bettering the Beehive State.
