Salt Lake Area

Allegiance appointed CARINE CLARK as president and CEO. Formerly SVP and CMO for Symantec, Clark has 25 years of experience building successful software companies.

Gov. Gary Herbert selected TODD KISER as commissioner of the Utah Insurance Department. Herbert also appointed ROBERT PERO to serve on the Utah State Tax Commission. THAD LEVAR and DAVID R. CLARK were appointed to fill the two vacancies at the Utah Public Service Commission.

MJ MILLER is the new director of development at Shriners Hospitals for Children—Salt Lake City. She joined the staff of the nonprofit pediatric specialty hospital after serving eight years as director of external relations for the University of Nevada Las-Vegas Libraries.

ASHLEY PATTERSON was named executive director of Wasatch Community Gardens. The Salt Lake City nonprofit empowers people of all ages and incomes to grow and eat healthy, organic, local food.

Dental Select welcomed SUZETTE MUSGROVE as chief operations and strategy officer. Musgrove carries 17 years of experience at Dental Select, including the last four years as chief sales and operations officer.

Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City welcomed RICKY BORJA as the new assistant general manager. Borja is an accomplished hotelier and will be focused on achieving the greatest levels of guest satisfaction through personal care at the 225-room boutique hotel.

The Utah Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) named NAI West Executive Vice President and co-founder KYLE ROBERTS as its first ever SIOR of the year.

Keystone Aviation promoted SHANE CARLSON to the position of chief pilot. Carlson has been a pilot for Keystone Aviation since 2001 and holds six aircraft type ratings.

GREG BLACKBURN was selected as vice president of clinical support services for Intermountain Healthcare. He previously served as the operations officer for Intermountain’s McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden.

Alliance Health Networks added MARTINE EHRENCLOU, award-winning author, patient advocate and speaker, as a new patient advocate on more than a dozen condition-specific social networks focused on chronic and complex conditions.

Commercial real estate broker and industrial/land specialist ERIC LARSEN joined the Salt Lake Office of Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT. Larsen will serve as a strategic partner in Coldwell’s industrial division for Utah County and the South Salt Lake area.

Intermountain Healthcare named STEVEN HUEBNER to serve on its board of trustees. Huebner is a retired partner of the audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG, where he directed audit and financial services for several healthcare, higher education and nonprofit organizations.

Utah Valley

Dress Code appointed BILL SCHUFFENHAUER as its director of sales for the Utah market. Schuffenhauer will focus on managing the company’s sales team in the Utah market and expand its coverage in multiple cities throughout the state.

Nature’s Sunshine Products appointed GREGORY L. PROBERT to executive chairman of the board of directors. The organization also named KRISTINE F. HUGHES vice chairman of the board of directors.

 

The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce hired JOHN WHITTAKER as its new director of events. Whittaker’s experience includes being the CEO at the Utah State Fair Park, the director of public events at Thanksgiving Point and involvment with the Stadium of Fire.

Northern Utah

TAB Bank appointed MICHAEL PALMER as vice president of compliance. In his new role, Palmer will provide direction to the bank’s compliance team as well as oversight of the bank’s compliance objectives and responsibilities. TAB also promoted CURTIS SUTHERLAND to vice president of A/R financing and ERIN KENNAH to portfolio manager.

The Weber County Bar Association elected Durham Jones & Pinegar Associate MICHAEL S. MALMBORG as the 2013 president-elect. Malmborg will take office in 2014 as the bar’s president.

MARLIN ELDRED, a community and economic development specialist for Davis County, recently earned the designation of certified economic developer (CEcD), a national recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment, and a commitment to personal and professional growth.

SHEA BETTENCOURT, veteran mortgage loan officer, was named Bank of Utah’s new mortgage branch manager. Bettencourt worked for more than 14 years as a loan officer for various mortgage lending institutions including MetLife and Wells Fargo.

Wastach/Summit Area

DEBBIE CASEY was named the general manager of Talisker Club. Casey has an extensive history and experience with exclusive clubs in the West.

FRANK JORGENSON was named vice president and sales executive of Sterling Ascend Insurance Resources. Jorgenson will work from the firm’s Park City office and will be responsible for sales, client services and senior carrier relationships.

JESSE MCDANNELL is the new executive chef at the Hyatt Escala Lodge at Park City’s Escala Provisions Company Restaurant & Bar. McDannell has been with Hyatt for seven years, and in that time has worked in nine major Hyatt properties in four cities.

Southern

CHRIS ASHWORTH, a senior R&D engineer at Wilson Electronics, was named a Leader Under 40 by Control Engineering. Over the past three years, the Control Engineering Leaders Under 40 program has identified and recognized 10 young engineers who have made significant contributions toward the control engineering profession.
