West Valley City — On Friday, May 10, Petzl broke ground on its new North American sales, marketing, training, and distribution headquarters in West Valley City, Utah.
The new building is planned to be LEED-certified, with 24,000 square feet of office space, a 40,000-square-foot warehouse, and a 15,000-square-foot training area. The training facility will contain a 60-foot high indoor climbing structure for product testing and training climbers and rope-access professionals.
The building will include a bicycle storage and maintenance room, employee climbing wall and a workout facility, among other things. Petzl America plans to move from its current location in Clearfield, which it has occupied for more than 14 years, to the new facility in early 2014.
Sahara, Inc. is the builder for the few facility, and ajc architects is the designer.
