Governor Gary R. Herbert appointed KYMBER D. HOUSLEY to fill a vacancy on the First District Court bench. Since 1995, Housley has served in Logan as city attorney, assistant city attorney and city prosecutor.

KERRY WANGSGARD was elected treasurer of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council. Wangsgard has been America First Credit Union’s vice president and director of trust services since 2005.

Salt Lake City — The law firm Durham Jones & Pinegar appointed DUANE H. GILLMAN to chair the firm’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights section, RICH HYMAS to be the firm’s litigation section chair and MARK GIBB to be the litigation section co-chair. GRETTA SPENDLOVE will chair the firm’s real estate section.

The Salt Lake Chamber has named MARTY CARPENTER as executive vice president of communication. In this role, Carpenter will oversee all communication for Utah’s largest and longest-serving business association and play a larger role in policy development.

LARRY MINER retired after almost 45 at Bank of American Fork. He retired as a senior vice president and chief operating officer .
