Wisan, Smith, Racker, & Prescott LLP promoted DANIEL P. RINEHART to a partner in the firm’s Salt Lake City, Utah office. Rinehart is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and member of the Utah Association of Certificated Public Accountants (UACPA).  He has focused his years of experience in the areas of auditing and accounting to clients in retail, construction, consumer products, financial services, insurance, and not-for-profit organizations.

Vivint appointed MATTHEW EYRING as the company’s chief strategy and innovation officer. In this newly created position, Eyring will lead the organization’s directional growth initiatives in home automation, residential security, and solar markets as well as provide guidance and direction on new initiatives. Eyring was most recently the managing partner of Innosight, a global strategy and innovation consulting firm co-founded by Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen.

The American Academy, which partners with school districts across the nation to recruit, enroll and educate children who cannot or will not attend school, appointed RAY KELLY as its chief executive officer and a member of the company’s board of directors. Kelly is an accomplished visionary leader, and a leading advocate for the value of technology-enabled education in raising economic and social standards globally.

Utah Department of Health (UDOH) Executive Director Dr. David Patton named Dr. ALLYN NAKASHIMA, M.D., to serve as state epidemiologist. Nakashima is a Utah native who returns to Salt Lake City after a distinguished and lengthy career with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.

Weber State University named STANLEY FAWCETT to the John B. Goddard Endowed Chair in Global Supply Chain Management. He is the first professor at WSU to hold the title of endowed chair. Fawcett joined WSU’s faculty in August as a visiting professor. He is an active researcher who has published more than 100 papers in the areas of supply chain integration, global network design and manufacturing strategy. Fawcett received his doctorate from Arizona State University and has had the opportunity to teach professional development programs in North and South America.

ClearOne appointed video conferencing veteran ADI REGEV as vice president of its video conferencing business. Regev will be responsible for the strategic positioning, business development and growth of the company's COLLABORATE portfolio of software-based video conferencing products, which includes desktop video applications, room systems, and infrastructure and management solutions.
