STEVE MILLER has been appointed to the newly-created position of chief operating officer of Miller Sports Properties. He has been working for the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies for 22 years in various positions, including general manager of Larry H. Miller Fleet Lease, director of New & Used Car Operations and most recently as president of the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah.
BOB HYDE has been named the executive vice president of Miller Retail Properties which include Fanzz sports apparel stores, Megaplex Theatres and ProStop convenience stores. Hyde will retain his responsibilities as president of Fanzz, and chief financial officer and capologist for the Utah Jazz.
LINDA LUCHETTI has been appointed executive vice president of communications for the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. Luchetti now oversees all internal and external communications for the company.
ALAN KAY TIBBITTS has been named area branch supervisor and business development officer at Brighton Bank. He was the branch manager at the South Salt Lake office. Tibbitts’ new responsibilities include the supervision of two branch locations as well as business development and marketing. He will remain at the South Salt Lake location, 93 W. 3300 South. Tibbitts has been with Brighton Bank for 33 years.
Brighton Bank announced ERIK TADJE has been hired to serve as vice president and commercial loan officer of the Cottonwood Office, 7101 S. Highland Drive. Tadje joins the Bank with 10 years of local commercial, industrial and real estate lending experience. He is currently serving as President of the Kiwanis Club of Orem and is a volunteer with Junior Achievement of Utah.
Gov. Gary R. Herbert appointed JEFFREY C. WILCOX to fill a vacancy on the Fifth District Court bench, which hears cases originating in Beaver, Iron and Washington Counties. Wilcox joined the St. George, Utah based Gallian, Wilcox, Welker, Olson & Beckstrom, L.C., in 1984 shortly after being admitted to the Utah Bar. Wilcox has practiced in many areas including general litigation, real estate, banking, commercial, corporate, partnership, business, personal injury, insurance defense, construction law and adoption.
THOMAS A. BRADY has been selected as the new deputy director of the Utah Department of Commerce. “Tom’s credentials as an attorney and as our Division of Securities’ head of enforcement makes him an ideal choice for Commerce,” said Francine A. Giani, executive director of the Utah Department of Commerce. “We are excited for Tom to begin his new role and are confident he will hit the ground running as deputy director.”
MARK L. SMITH joined Clyde Snow & Sessions as a shareholder and will divide his time between the Los Angeles and Salt Lake City offices. He is a lawyer with extensive experience in commercial and white-collar litigation, including antitrust, securities, intellectual property, class actions and unemployment.
REAGAN DESMOND who was formerly affiliated with Clyde Snow & Sessions, and has since focused her practice in the areas of natural resources, water and environmental law, rejoined the firm in its Bend, Ore., location.
