Dunn Associates, Inc. hired DAVID R. SMITH, S.E. Smith, as a professional structural engineer. Smith received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University, and is a licensed Structural/Professional Engineer in the state of Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, and Wyoming. He also holds a Professional Engineering license in the state of California. He is a member of the American Institute of Steele Construction and served as historian/secretary for the Structural Engineers Association of Utah from 1997-1999.

GREG BLACKBURN has been selected as vice president of Clinical Support Services for Intermountain Healthcare. He previously served as the operations officer for Intermountain’s McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden. Blackburn will be accountable for Intermountain’s pharmacy, laboratory, rehabilitation, pain management, dialysis, imaging, and other service areas.

The Weber County Bar Association elected Durham Jones & Pinegar Associate MICHAEL S. MALMBORG as the 2013 president-elect. Malmborg will take office in 2014 as the bar’s president. He has been a member of the Weber County Bar Association since 2006. Malmborg’s practice specializes in estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, as well as business and probate litigation, and property law. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2006 and received his B.S. in accounting from Weber State University.

MARLIN ELDRED, community and economic development specialist, Davis County recently earned the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), a national recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment and a commitment to personal and professional growth. The CEcD designation recognizes qualified and dedicated practitioners in the economic development field and sets the standard of excellence within the profession. Candidates must pass a rigorous and comprehensive three-part, two-day examination, which tests a practitioner’s knowledge, proficiency and judgment in the key areas of economic development, including business retention and expansion, marketing, finance, workforce development, community development, real estate, strategic planning, and management.

Associate ADAM KENJI RICHARDS has joined Ray Quinney & Nebeker's Litigation Section. Before joining Ray Quinney & Nebeker, Richards served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harris Hartz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the Honorable Lucy Koh of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.  While at Stanford Law School, Richards was an extern at the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division in San Francisco, California where he assisted on civil and criminal matters. Associate ADAM D. WENTZ joined RQ&N's Litigation Section.  Prior to joining Ray Quinney & Nebeker, Wentz was an Associate at another local Salt Lake City law firm. Wentz’s practice involves a broad range of disputes including commercial litigation, product liability defense, construction/work-site injuries, construction defects, and general litigation.

MELODY STAUFFER joined the Utah MERCER office’s Health & Benefits team as sr. health & benefits analyst. Stauffer comes with a great deal of experience and a long history of working in human resource administration. Her expertise is in benefits administration, HRIS and employee communications.

Dress Code appointed BILL SCHUFFENHAUER as its director of sales for the Utah market. Schuffenhauer will focus on managing the company’s sales team in the Utah market and expand its coverage in multiple cities throughout the state.  He will drive the hiring, training, and growth of Dress Code’s salesforce in the region and is tasked with continuing to grow Utah revenue as the company enters new markets in 2013. Schuffenhauer was a silver-medalist in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games with his four-man bobsled team. Before joining Dress Code, Schuffenhauer was the director of corporate relations at Ozone, a vice president at the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, and most recently the founder of an executive destination management company, Silver Retreats.

The Utah TECH-X sales and growth mentoring program named RANDALL SCOTT, Director of Client Services for Snapp Conner PR, as the program’s 2012 TECH-X Mentor of the Year. Scott, a senior executive for Snapp Conner PR, has participated in TECH-X for the past two years, providing public relations and business strategy counsel to companies in the TECH-X program. TECH-X recently named Scott its 2012 Mentor of the Year in recognition of above and beyond service he has provided to the companies who attend.

Wall Street Communications promoted SUNNY BRANSON and SARAH SCHRAAD to account director positions. Branson and Schraad will maintain their client-facing responsibilities, while taking on greater roles in personnel training and management as well as development and management of internal processes and procedures. Tasked with oversight of internal quality control, Branson will work with the Wall Street Communications writing team, administrative staff, and agency account teams to improve internal communications, institute new quality control processes and programs, and facilitate continuing education. Schraad will be responsible for monitoring changes in the trade press and editorial staff, identifying new publications and editorial opportunities, and investigating the new vertical markets being entered by the agency's clients.

DEBBIE CASEY has been named the new general manager of Talisker Club, a premiere lifestyle club in Park City, Utah. Casey comes to Talisker with a deep history and experience with exclusive clubs in the West.  Her understanding of a four-season resort lifestyle, high end communities, club offerings and service excellence make her the ideal fit for Talisker Club.  As general manager, she will direct all aspects of the club and the amenities associated with ownership in the four exclusive mountain communities that comprise Talisker Club: Empire Pass, Tuhaye, Red Cloud and the Waldorf Astoria Park City. Casey recently worked for East West Partners for more than ten years, (2001 to 2011) as the COO/General Manager for Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California.  She was responsible for many aspects of the club from its inception including design, construction and creation of amenities and activities.

NICHOLAS E. DUDOICH, GREGORY N. GUNN, and EILEEN P. HENG have joined Strong & Hanni as associate attorneys. Dudoich is part of the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation and Transportation groups. Gunn is part of the Family Law and Commercial Litigation groups. Heng is part of the Transportation group.

Keystone Aviation promoted SHANE CARLSON to the position of chief pilot. Carlson has been a pilot for Keystone Aviation since 2001 and holds six aircraft type ratings. As chief pilot, Carlson will be responsible for safety, operational, and regulatory aspects of the Keystone Aviation Flight Department.  He will also be directly responsible for the management of a staff of over 35 employees. Carlson is a graduate of the University of Utah with more than 6,000 hours of flight time.

Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. (PRMI) welcomed JAMES SLAGOWSKI as its new vice president of Compliance. Slagowski, a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, comes to PRMI with a decade of experience in the industry having worked at companies like Zions Bancorporation, American Express, and Bank of American Fork. Slagowski earned his Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University, has served in the Utah Army National Guard for 27 years and holds the rank of lieutenant colonel, with two tours of duty in Afghanistan.

Black Diamond, Inc. filled four newly created positions to bolster its operational and sales teams, both domestically and internationally. OLAV NIETZER is the new director of European sales, Black Diamond Equipment. ANDREW CAMPBELL is now the European financial controller, Black Diamond. COLIN ISRAEL is the new PLM global integration coordinator, Black Diamond. MARTIJN LINDEN is the new design director of apparel, Black Diamond Equipment.
