MARK VANORDEN was selected to serve as executive director of the department of technology services and the state’s chief information officer (CIO). VanOrden has been serving as the acting executive director, and was chosen to permanently fill the position for his exemplary leadership and his notable skills in information technology.
Trebor International promoted KELLY DAVIS to director of R&D and operations. Davis started with Trebor as the operations manager. SAM KUYOTH was promoted to global channel manager. Kuyoth began in customer service.
American Banker magazine’s October 2012 “Most Powerful Women in Banking” issue ranked LEEANNE B. LINDERMAN, Zions Bank’s executive vice president of retail banking, No. 21. She was the only banker from Utah listed. This marks the third time Zions’ senior-level women have been recognized by the publication as a top team.
Ray Quinney & Nebeker elected RICK THALER to the Economic Development Corporation of Utah’s Board of Trustees. Thaler is a shareholder and member of Ray Quinney & Nebeker’s executive committee. DAVE MORIN was named trustee for U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. Morin is a former ski racer and co-founder and CEO of Path. A graduate of the University of Colorado, he began his career at Apple, Inc. learning design and advocating for social networking. He then moved to Facebook where he played a pivotal senior leadership role in the early growth years of the company, notably the development and launch of the Facebook Platform and later Facebook Connect. He left Facebook in 2010 to form a startup, Path – the personal social network that allows users to share life and be closer with close friends and family.
CAMERON MARTIN was selected to serve as vice president for university relations at Utah Valley University. Martin returns to UVU after spending the past four years with the Utah System of Higher Education, most recently as associate commissioner for economic development and planning. Previously, he spent about 10 years at UVU as special assistant to the president, director of alumni relations and business manager at what was then called the McKay Events Center (now the UCCU Center).
Boart Longyear Limited’s Board of Directors announced that CRAIG KIPP is terminating his tenure as chief executive officer and a director of the Company effective immediately. Boart Longyear’s Chairman, DAVID MCLEMORE, will serve as executive chairman and acting CEO effective immediately while a search for a successor to Kipp is underway. In these roles McLemore will be supported by the business’ senior leaders, including ALAN SIDES (Products), JOE RAGAN (CFO) and MIKE BIRCH (Drilling Services).
BidSync named JAKE POLLMANN director of IT. In this position, Pollmann will be responsible for leading the company’s IT organization and driving new network applications and infrastructure to deliver uninterrupted, 24/7 service to BidSync’s growing customer base and its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) e-procurement and government bid notification solutions.
SCOTT JOB has joined the Utah sales and service office of the Principal Financial Group as a senior sales representative. Job has extensive experience in the employee benefits industry. He has worked in employee benefits human resources and as a broker in the Phoenix market most recently.
Thanksgiving Point hired VARDEN HADFIELD as the new director of major gifts. Hadfield will work closely with individuals capable of making gifts of more than $25,000, and will also lead the final major gifts phase of the new Museum of Natural Curiosity in the Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation building.
Mountain America Credit Union has named STEPHEN HYDE manager of its second branch in Cedar City, Utah. Hyde has been assistant manager of the first Cedar City branch for the past seven years.
JOE BINGHAM has joined Reeve & Associates as a structural engineer. Bingham brings to the company more than 15 years of experience along with a Masters of Engineering degree from Brigham Young University. His work includes commercial buildings, offices, schools and medical facilities.
