Modern Healthcare magazine included CHARLES SORENSON, MD, president and CEO of Intermountain Healthcare, on its ranking of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare.” The annual ranking recognizes men and women in a variety of roles who are considered among the most influential throughout the industry, as chosen by readers of the magazine. Modern Healthcare reported that this year’s ranking reflects impact of important health coverage issues from policy to business to politics.
TIM SHEEHAN has been named vice president of Government and Community Relations at Salt Lake Community College. Prior to joining the College, Sheehan served as the State Director to U.S. Senator Bob Bennett for more than nine years. He has broad experience in Utah state government. He worked in the administration of former Utah Governor Mike Leavitt, serving initially as the governor’s Assistant Deputy for Communications, and later as his Deputy for Policy.
The Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake appointed DANIEL BARNETT, shareholder at Parr Brown Gee & Loveless as president of the board of trustees. Barnett served as vice president of the board of trustees for the past year and has been a member of the board for seven years. The Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake provides legal representation to individuals in Salt Lake County with family law needs through two principle programs.
Insurance Insight Group (IIG) launched Insurance Insight Training and announced that BECCA WISE will oversee all aspects of the Insurance Insight Training program. The training program is interactive and provides subscribers with custom content, weekly live online events, a custom website, and ongoing drip marketing campaigns that are all part of a cost-effective package. Wise has been involved in the insurance industry for over six years and holds an insurance license in the state of Iowa. She is a dynamic facilitator with experience in annuity, life insurance, and Medicare product training.
CHRISTOPHER C. HARRINGTON has joined the Allegiance Board of Directors. Harrington has 25 years of experience in leading and managing national and worldwide sales teams operating across diverse markets. His expertise in business management, global marketing strategy and product development will help guide Allegiance’s future growth.
JASON KING, a 2012 PhD graduate of Capella University, has been named Mental Health Counselor of the Year by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). King, who lives in Orem, Utah, was honored for professional excellence and having “helped the clinical mental health counseling profession overcome challenges and create opportunities.” He is also the co-owner and clinical director of Life Enhancement Center, a group of community mental health and substance abuse clinics with offices throughout Utah.
