VLCM Marketing Director, LYNDA MELLOR, was awarded “Marketing Executive of the Year,” by the Utah Technology Council (UTC). VLCM is an advocate for UTC, and Mellor has worked countless hours over the last two years to help UTC build support. She is a board member of the Communications Committee and through that has helped with Public Relations, providing signage for events, as well as bringing her expertise in event planning and management. She also has been the chief executor in hosting many peer to peer forums for UTC on behalf of VLCM. Mellor brings extensive knowledge in marketing, public relations, communications, and funding. Mellor holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University and has more than 8 years of marketing and business management experience. VLCM is proud to have Mellor’s efforts recognized, and to have her on its management team.
DARREN BUTTARS has joined VLCM’s Engineering team. Buttars holds Juniper Certifications: JNCIE-M, JCIS-SEC (routers) and JNCIS-SSL (SSL-VPN.) He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Administration from Weber State University. Before joining VLCM’s team he worked on Juniper SSL VPN and Routers, as well as Air Magnet Wireless Software. He has more than 7 years of networking experience.
JERAMIE WEST joined VLCM’s Engineering team. West has more than 14 years of IT experience. He has a wide range of expertise, both on servers, and storage. He has also supported and designed solutions using NFS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel for both virtual and physical environments. He also has 9 years of experience with VMware. West has a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Technology from the University of Phoenix and holds a VCP: VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 5.
Executive Vice President of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (LHM Group), Steve Starks, announced today that DAVID BLAIN was named president of Saxton Horne Advertising and Media Services. The LHM Group is the parent company of Saxton Horne. Prior to joining Saxton Horne, Blain served as executive vice president of Rare Method’s Salt Lake City office. Before joining Rare Method, Blain was a founding partner of BOWG (Blain, Olsen, White, Gurr) Advertising in Salt Lake City.
MICHAEL JAQUET, a senior executive with CBS Sports network and lifelong ski marketing visionary, has been named Chief Marketing Officer for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA). Jaquet will take over leadership responsibilities for sponsorship, licensing, suppliers and media sales and marketing for the Olympic sports organization and its U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding brands. Jaquet comes to the USSA from CBS Sports Network, where he was Vice President, Television and Properties Sales, overseeing the network’s sales department.
SMG, manager of Salt Lake’s Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center and South Towne Exposition Center appointed DANIEL HAYES to general manager of both its Salt Lake facilities. A 12-year employee of SMG, Hayes most recently held the position of Facility Director/Assistant GM. Hayes has also held the positions of Executive Director of Convention Sales for SMG Corporate, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Event Management and Sales Manager during his 12-year tenure with SMG.
SME Steel Contractors, Inc. appointed WAYNE SEARLE as its Chief Executive Officer. Searle has served as President of SME Steel for the past four years. He has served in various capacities and leadership roles within SME for the past 18 years. Searle began his career with structural steel detailing and consistently progressed to his current position. Searle will oversee the nearly 1,000 employees in West Jordan, Utah; Pocatello, Idaho; Phoenix, Arizona; and Las Vegas, Nevada. He has more than 34 years of experience in the structural steel construction industry with considerable experience in shop manufacturing, field installation, drafting, detailing, engineering, project management, contracts, estimating, sales supervision, administration, and finance—all of which makes him an exceptional leader.
JENNIFER B. DANIELSON was appointed to the position of President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah. She will be responsible for guiding Regence’s market operations in Utah, securing new business and growing all of our targeted segments. Danielson joined the company in 1997 and has an extensive health insurance and policy background from previous positions held with Regence in leading the public policy division and on the legal team, as well as with the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office, the Utah Department of Health and the Utah Attorney General’s Office Health Division. Danielson has served as the past president of the Utah Health Insurance Association and currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, Secretary/Treasurer for the University of Utah Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors of the Regence Foundation, the Board of Trustees for the Utah Foundation, HealthInsight and the American Heart Association, and is an avid supporter of Pioneer Theater Company.
