Salt Lake City – Control4 Corporation appointed JEREMY JAECH to its board of directors. Jaech co-founded Aldus, a desktop publishing company.
Lindon – NUVI appointed its chairman KEITH NELLESEN to CEO. Nellesen co-founded Vivint and served as CEO of MoneyReef. Former CEO David Oldham assumed a role as a member of the board.
Salt Lake City – RALPH R. MABEY joined Kirton McConkie as a shareholder. Mabey is currently a professor at the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law and served as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Utah from 1979 to1983.
TRACY CHRISTENSEN was named president of Wasatch Backcountry Rescue by the non-profit organization’s board of directors. Christensen is a 24-year veteran patrolman and rescue dog handler at Sundance Resort.
Farmington – ThomasARTS hired SCOTT NELSON as executive media director in its Farmington office. Nelson was previously vice president and director of media strategy for ID Media.
Salt Lake City – The Utah Symphony extended the contract of Music Director THIERRY FISCHER through the 2018-19 season. If completed, the extension will mark a decade-long tenure for Fischer who is currently finishing his fifth season with the orchestra.
Salt Lake City – Helix Education hired STEVE PAPPAGEORGE as chief product officer and senior vice president and TOM CASWELL as director of instructional design. Pappageorge most recently served as dean of the College of Continuing Education, New Programs and Outreach at DeVry University, and Caswell was director of instructional design at Western Governors University.
Salt Lake City – The USTAR Governing Authority and Governor Gary R. Herbert named IVY V. ESTABROOKE as the new executive director for the Utah Science and Technology Research initiative (USTAR). Estabrooke replaces former executive director Ted McAleer. Estabrooke has been serving as the program officer for basic research.
