JANE CARLILE recently received the 2012 William N. Jones Trustee of Excellence award in recognition of her volunteer leadership service as a trustee of Intermountain Healthcare. Carlile was selected from among Intermountain’s 450 volunteer trustees for the award, which is given annually to board members who have been exceptionally effective in helping Intermountain achieve its mission. Carlile is a former Provo City Council member and has served on a variety of boards, including Habitat for Humanity, Neighborhood Housing Services of Provo, Boys and Girls Club, Provo City Energy, Intermountain’s Women’s Advisory Council for the Urban South Region, and the Workforce Services Board for Utah County. She has been a volunteer for Hospice and the Women and Children in Crisis Center. She is currently an instructor for Turning Point at Utah Valley University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Work from Utah State University.



Big-D Construction recently hired DREW WATKINS as senior project manager. Watkins has more than 37 years of experience in the construction industry, beginning as a cabinet maker in 1975.  Since then, he has worked in many different areas, gaining experience as a senior project manager, project director, senior quality control manager, project engineer, estimator and laborer. Watkins, who possesses the ability to create a great working environment and instill a high level of confidence through timely and accurate completion of responsibilities, will oversee valued projects and provide additional leadership to the Big-D team.



WENDY BOWDEN CROWTHER has joined the Parsons Behle & Latimer firm’s Salt Lake City office as a shareholder and member of the Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources Department. Crowther concentrates her practice on water law and represents municipalities, water conservancy districts, special service districts, irrigation companies and private water rights holders before the Utah State Engineer and Utah District Court. She handles water rights and property transfers and is experienced in condemnation litigation. She also represents clients in Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act matters. Crowther is a member of the Utah State Bar and American Bar Associations and has served, or continues to serve, in a leadership position on several committees in those organizations. She is a frequent speaker on water law-related topics.



The Administrative Office of the Utah State Courts has appointed TERRI YELONEK as the trial court executive for Seventh District Court, which includes Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan counties. As the court executive, Yelonek will be responsible for the administration of district and juvenile courts, which includes providing administrative support to three judges and managing support operations of about 30 professional and technical staff, case management, court facilities, probation services, and court security. In addition, the court executive develops, justifies, and manages the court budget. Yelonek has worked for the past 25 years for the Division of Child and Family Services in domestic violence and child abuse and neglect. Most recently, she has served as a child welfare administrator in Carbon County.


EDA Architects has recently promoted SCOTT LATER to Associate position. Since joining EDA, Later has contributed to many facilities, civic, justice and educational and has become a very valuable part of the architectural team. He provides project management for the design team and coordinates EDA’s contract document production with all the consultant team members. He recently successfully managed the construction of South Weber K-2 and is currently involved in the Renovation and Restoration of the Historic Ogden High School.


Bank of Utah hired AMY KAE JOHNSON and ADAM HARMON to fill new marketing positions at the locally-owned bank’s main branch in Ogden, Utah. Harmon is Bank of Utah’s new mortgage marketing coordinator. Harmon graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho and the University of Utah in marketing. Johnson has joined Bank of Utah as a marketing coordinator. Johnson holds a Master of Business Administration from Idaho State University and a bachelor’s degree in integrated studio art from BYU-Idaho. Johnson has experience designing marketing materials for Idaho State University’s College of Business where she was most recently employed.


People Water, Inc’s board of directors has named KEN BRETSCHNEIDER as chief executive officer. Bretschneider brings proven experience and success to the position. As Founder and CEO of DigiCert, Inc., an online security provider for the most recognized brands and websites in the world, he grew the company to its current position as the world’s third-largest provider of high-assurance digital SSL certificates. Bretschneider retains an active position as Executive Chairman of the Board at DigiCert.


Parr Brown Gee & Loveless appointed two of its associates, GREGORY NELSON and AUSTIN RITER, to the position of shareholder. Nelson works in the firm’s corporate transactions group with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings and business structuring and formation. In addition to his responsibilities at the firm he is a co-founder of GenX Capital, a networking group for investors and entrepreneurs, and teaches as an adjunct professor in Weber State University’s MBA program. Riter is part of the commercial litigation group at Parr Brown, focusing principally on First Amendment and media law. He started with Parr Brown in 2005 and spent two years completing federal district and appellate court clerkships beginning in 2007. He returned to the firm with a stronger understanding of how winning arguments are prepared and presented to judges and now teaches a class on federal courts as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law.
