As a leader of a data-driven company, there’s only one thing worse than reading the news that your company’s customer data was hacked—answering the phone when a customer calls for an explanation. Not only can breeches of your company and customer data be a never-ending battle of fines and lawsuits, it can also devastate your company’s reputation and put your entire organization at risk.
ViaWest recently teamed up with Still Secure to provide a suite of security and compliance products designed to help customers across a range of industries and governances protect their critical data. With two diverse Security Operations Centers, Still Secure monitors thousands of customer end points 24/7 and monitors security events across the globe in real time. So whether ViaWest professionals are securing access to intellectual property developed by new and emerging companies, or helping customers navigate through the myriad of compliance measurements in existence today, this partnership enables customers to meet and exceed grueling security standards by using a layered security approach.
ViaWest’s layered approach to security includes multiple physical security features for our facilities and customer environments, 24/7 onsite Network Operation Center technical support, and services such as managed firewall. Through our partnership with Still Secure, additional layers of protection are gained from their diverse, mirrored Security Operations Centers and their broad portfolio of security services, including Managed Intrusion Detection Services and Log Management Services.
Intrusion Detection Services (IDS) alert customers when a possible attack is occurring in the environment, allowing them to take quick action to prevent or limit the footprint of the attack. Simultaneously, ViaWest Network Operations Center staff and the Still Secure Security Operations Center professionals are alerted, ensuring the right eyes are on the suspect traffic immediately. Using this type of service assists with security mandates such as PCI/DSS, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and others.
Log Management Services (LMS) trace and analyze the “footprints” of an attempted attack or breech. LMS correlates events across your network, systems, and database environments, providing intelligent visibility to suspicious activity. For instance, if a hacker is attempting to break your database passwords, multiple failed attempts in a row will set an alert that will be announced to ViaWest, Still Secure, and you. These logs are maintained for at least 6 months to allow for compliance with many different control measurements including PCI/DSS.
The combination of ViaWest and Still Secure ensures your data is secure so you can focus on your growing your business. Get the best security without having to hire the staff or purchase the equipment, whether you’re in a colocated, hosted or cloud deployment.
