The developers of a new Salt Lake City-based technology company recognized a big problem with big data, and rather than be slowed down by the issues, vowed to solve the problems. As digital content creators themselves, the team of developers faced challenges caused by a lack of connectivity among the many collaborators on a single project. This limited connectivity, only worsened by the constraints of transferring bulky amounts of data, impeded project workflow, and often postponed the completion of time-sensitive projects.
The solution to the dilemma came in the formation of “Factory Connect” by Factory Studios Inc., a new development company of cloud-based technologies led by film industry leaders Steve Griffith, Tom Mikota and Keith Manley. These new technologies provide users with streaming, on-demand access to hardware, software and shared data. Geared toward the visual effects, gaming, animation, architectural and engineering industries, Factory Studios Inc.’s products, including “Factory Connect,” are crafted to increase project workflow and productivity by connecting digital content creators across the globe.
“Factory Studios Inc.’s cloud-based technology changes the entire approach of collaborating with designers and developers in an array of industries, from visual effects and animation, to architecture and engineering,” said CTO of Factory Studios Inc., Tom Mikota. “Not only do the technologies increase connectivity and workflow, but they also greatly reduce labor, hardware and software costs for companies and/or projects of any size.”
