December 6, 2013

HireVue provides a digital interviewing platform to allow companies to conduct remote interviews.

73 employees

HireVue is all about openness, transparency and collaboration. Employees are always encouraged to express their concerns and ideas, and the CEO welcomes one-on-one meetings with anyone in the team to talk about ideas, feedback or concerns. “We have a culture of trust, acceptance, encouragement and fun,” one employee says. “Everyone is important and is valued.”

HireVue also takes measures to ensure that employees can have a healthy work/life balance. The company doesn’t track paid time off, so employees don’t have to worry about missing work for kids’ ball games or family vacations. Other little perks include a fully stocked office kitchen, and an office gaming center with video game consoles, a pool table, foosball and darts.

  • Stock option grants for outstanding performance
  • Unlimited paid time off

Mantyla McReynolds LLC

Mantyla McReynolds is an accounting firm.

33 employees

Accounting is known for its heavy work load during tax season, so Mantyla McReynolds ensures that employees are rewarded for their long hours the rest of the year. From April to December, the firm works half days every Friday, and the entire office is closed between Christmas and January 1. Management is also willing to be flexible to accommodate family needs. One employee mentions a time the managing partner of the firm took responsibility for all the employee’s clients while he attended to a child who was sick in the hospital.

Management maintains an open-door policy, and provides regular feedback to employees on their performance. The company also takes an interest in its employees’ professional progress and pays for their certification exams and training.

“The culture of Mantyla McReynolds is that the individual comes first,” an employee says. “I can really tell that the partners believe that if the employees are happy then they will perform best.”

  • Health insurance premiums fully paid
  • Licensing certification reimbursement
  • Complimentary treats, fruit and drinks in the office

Grant Thornton LLP

45 employees

Grant Thornton wants to ensure that its employees succeed in their careers. Each new employee is assigned a coach who serves as a mentor. The firm also offers training and leadership programs and financial assistance to employees seeking new licensure and education. “You can't get better than the training you get at GT,” one employee says. “We are flown out for training regularly on a national level and are constantly being mentored and helped to continue improving in our jobs.”

The company is also focused on employee families. The company offers flexible work schedules to fit family needs and holds several family parties throughout the year. It also offers a program to provide back-up child or elder care when necessary.

  • Office game room

  • Domestic partner benefits allowed

Health Catalyst

Health Catalyst provides healthcare data warehousing and process improvement solutions.

85 employees

As a company dedicated to improving healthcare, it makes sense that Health Catalyst would go out of its way to promote healthy lifestyles among its employees. Among the many perks it offers are showers on site to accommodate those who exercise before work and incentives and prizes for employees who achieve personal health goals.

Health Catalyst also promotes healthy families by allowing flexible work schedules and the chance to work from home when needed so that employees can attend to their families’ needs.

The company’s employees are enthusiastic about advancement opportunities at Health Catalyst. “I've been here for two years and have tried to work really hard,” one employee says. “My salary has nearly doubled and I've been promoted multiple times. Health Catalyst rewards on performance more than any company I've ever worked for.”

  • Shuttle service from public transit stations and transit reimbursement
  • Up to $4,000 annually in assistance for employee educational programs
  • Cell phone and home internet reimbursements

Edward Jones

Edward Jones is a financial services firm.

67 employees
