A silent auction included such big-ticket items as a golf package donated by Victory Ranch, Deer Valley Resort two-day passes and brand new Fisher Water skis, donated by Jan’s Mountain Outfitters. The raffle featured several chances to win restaurant gift certificates, cycling gear by Silver Star Ski & Sport, Skullcandy headphones and more.
In an effort to promote green transportation options, Resorts West and the Silver Star Café offered two free raffle tickets to everyone who walked, rode a bike or took the city bus to the event.
St. George - RIVERWOODS MILL opened a new 3,200-square-foot showroom at 316 E. 1400 South. The new state-of-the-art showroom contains several full-size kitchen displays with a variety of styles from modern to traditional. The showroom also contains a working design center and full-size demonstration kitchen for Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.
St. George - PLUSONE COMPANY plans to open a sales training center located at 94 S. Mall Drive, Ste. 101. The new location will support training for new employees and the growing need for work-at-home agents. The facility will also welcome up to 100 new employees as the company continues to expand.
Cedar City - Members of the UTAH BOARD OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT approved 28 of 32 cooperative marketing applications from nonprofit tourism entities. The program is now in its seventh year and ninth round of funding. Those eligible for the cooperative marketing program include cities, counties, nonprofit destination marketing organizations and similar public entities that have been established as a nonprofit for a minimum of one year.
Sterling - Officials have broken ground for Sterling’s new COMMUNITY CENTER. The city was approved for $555,000 from the COMMUNITY IMPACT BOARD. Half of the money is in the form of a grant and the other $278,000 is a zero-interest loan, bringing the yearly payment for the center to approximately $9,000 and increasing each household city bill by around $5 a month.
St. George - UTILITY, INC. was named recipient of the “M2M in Action” award at the Connected World Value Chain Awards Gala in Chicago for delivering an innovative combination of vehicle cellular and wireless router hardware.
Richens Eye Center Celebrates 10 Years
St. George - RICHENS EYE CENTER celebrated its 10th anniversary in St. George with an open house featuring a health fair, refreshments and entertainment.
“On my first day, I had three employees and I treated four patients,” says Dr. Sharon Richens. “Now with over 20 employees and many wonderful patients, we’ve moved to a new beautiful office...Thank you to all the patients who have trusted me with their sight and to the community that has made me feel welcome.”
Richens Eye Center recently relocated to a new green facility in the historic downtown area of St. George. The new building was designed to harmonize with the classic architecture of the historic district while incorporating state-of-the-art technology to enhance patient care.
Richens and her associates treat all types of eye diseases and conditions ranging from routine exams to specialized surgery. Dr. Reed Gibb, Dr. Joshua Terry and Dr. Kristin Tarbet join her in the practice.
