Salt Lake City – The SALT LAKE BEES ranked in the top 25 in Minor League Baseball in licensed merchandise sales in 2012. MiLB is made up of 160 teams.
Salt Lake City – KEN GARFF AUTOMOTIVE GROUP acquired MASERATI OF SALT LAKE CITY and FERRARI OF SALT LAKE CITY, formerly of STEVE HARRIS MOTORS.
Salt Lake City – Internet provider XMISSION formed strategic peering agreements with content providers, including Netflix, Facebook and Google, designed to give customers faster access to some of the most popular sites on the internet.
Salt Lake City – EMERITUS AT SALT LAKE CITY, a senior living community, was chosen by U.S. News & World Report as one of America’s best nursing homes. Emeritus has earned the top five-star ranking for more than five years.
South Jordan – MERIT MEDICAL SYSTEMS, INC., a manufacturer and marketer of disposable devices used in cardiology, radiology and endoscopy, opened a hypotube manufacturing center in Galway, Ireland.
Salt Lake City – The UTAH WOMEN AND EDUCATION INITIATIVE released a research and policy brief highlighting the need for more women to enter STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields of study and underscoring the benefits to women through higher earning potential.
Murray – The SPORTS MALL completed a $1 million remodel of its athletic facility, which includes a new martial arts studio, refurbished men’s and women’s locker rooms, and a refinished basketball floor.
Riverton – PETERSON’S MARKET purchased and remodeled a former Fresh Market store at 1784 W. 12600 South and opened it as Peterson’s Fresh Market.
Salt Lake City – BLACKROCK MICROSYSTEMS opened a new 60,000-square-foot headquarters in the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH’s Research Park. The facility features a built-in clean room facility.
West Jordan – LET’S PLAY SPORTS purchased 3.26 acres with the intent of expanding its facilities. The company has plans to build two new indoor fields, which should be open for use before the end of 2013.
Salt Lake City – The UNIVERSITY OF UTAH’s technology commercialization office changed its name to Technology and Venture Commercialization to emphasize its dual mission in commercializing inventions and creating new ventures.
Salt Lake City – David R. York and Andrew L. Howell partnered to form the law firm YORK HOWELL LLC. Both were previously with Callister Nebeker & McCullough.
Salt Lake City – ITT EXELIS was awarded a multi-million dollar contract from Lockheed Martin to fabricate composite blade seal components for all variants of the F-35 Lightning II program.
Bluffdale – C7 DATA CENTERS, a provider of data center colocation services, completed the Granite Point data center, a state-of-the-art, Tier 3, 65,000-square-foot data center and office complex.

Salt Lake City – SOLARWINDS, INC., a Texas-based company that builds IT management software products, announced plans to bring operations to Utah, bringing an expected 1,040 new jobs to the state.
West Jordan – PETERSON DEVELOPMENT announced plans to build a master-planned community, The Highlands. The community has the potential for more than 2,900 homes.
Salt Lake City – BEIJER ELECTRONICS signed a new lease at CENTREPOINTE BUSINESS PARK, a research and development park.
Sandy – The LIVING PLANET AQUARIUM formed a partnership with LANCER HOSPITALITY to provide exclusive food service and catering at the new Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, which is scheduled to open December 2013.
Salt Lake City – International real estate investment and services firm Kennedy Wilson acquired FOOTHILL PLACE, a 450-unit apartment community, for $61.8 million.
